[ooc: Shockwave's / Old School's modification work on the Armor, at an effective Shift X Reason, plus 80 Karma]
[attack=266728257589555]
Total 108%
Refunding 4 Karma each back to Shockwave and Oldschool.
Current Karma totals:
Shockwave: 230 Oldschool: 261 Flashdance: 192
Shockwave's Flight power stunt is now a full fledged power at Remarkable rank, seperate from the Sonic Generation at Incredible. Shockwave will discover when he's back in the armor, that he may now Fly and attack with Sonics simultaneously and without difficulty. Oldschool will have to make a Yellow Hyper-Hearing FEAT to hear the armor in flight.

Shockwave thanks him for allowing him to store the bag, and says he'll be back to pick it up at 11 if at all possible. He then thanks both the owner and the waitress for the hospitality, promising that he'll be back, and leaves a generous tip, as he heads for the door leaving the bag with the owner.
With just a short distance to Hank's, he walks there, looking to take a position within a half a block with a view of the bar. To set up surveillance, he turns on active sonar, as well as attempting to grab soundwaves off the walls of the bar, enhancing them to be heard around him. (Basically, a shotgun microphone effect, possibly a power stunt.)

OOC: Hold off on that power stunt, Shockwave. Hank's is roughly 14 blocks away from the Celestial Temple of Pizza, one block south to 7th Street, and 13 blocks west... going to hold here for Flashdance and Oldschool to catch up, and I'd like to introduce my friend's character in this upcoming scene as well. If Shockwave is on "forward recon," Hank's is rocking with a loud techno-rock band inside (playing "Omen" by the Prodigy) The garage door to the left of the main entrance is closed, and emblazoned with graffiti that says "Flashing Blades" - a gang territory marker. Out front, a thug plays hackeysack with another thug. Another one, dancing to the music with a Halloween glowstick occasionally stops and appears to be making quick exchanges of money and handshakes to other thugs and bar patrons - possible drug deals. A few rough looking thugs wearing pads and helmets on skateboards and roller blade skates have a halfpipe ramp set up on the lot next to the bar. A couple of them are skating on the ramp back and forth, practicing a joust against each other with lead pipes as others cheer. More thugs in powdery silver-blue and blood red clothing with skates are showing up from a subway entrance across from the bar.

Oldschool echoes Shockwave's sentiments and thanks everyone at the pizza place. He then follows the others, pleased to have helped Shockwave with the modifications to his armor.
It had been far too long since he had been able to work on something technical. He supposed he could still get a job with Stark, but knew he wasn't ready to let his pride go. Stark had made a few decisions that had blown up in Sherman Industries face. Somehow, again, Stark had come out on top after sacrificing his pawns.
Sure he had lost the contracts to LuthorCorp and Shaw Industries, but Oldschool was smart enough to know that Starks finances were far from hurting.
Alot of people had lost their jobs because of Stark. A brilliant weapons designer, but not so good at seeing the human factor of things.
He leaned back against the wall of the building they had stopped by and crossed his arms casually. They weren't too far away from the bar and Oldschool knew he could cover the distance quickly with a few bounds. He concentrated both his sight and hearing. The music made conversations difficult to hear, but he felt that with a FEAT of effort, he'd be able to hear better if he had to.
He waited for Flashdance to catch up.

"Giovanni, I have to say that was the best Darn 150$ pizza I have ever had - worth every penny. Nothing like thumping some bad guys with a belly full of grease, pepperoni, beer."
Flashdance stands up, stretches and picks up his bat.
"Oldschool - I never did say thanks for picking this up for me. The next bad guy it hits is for you"
He hangs back a little, waiting for the guys to get a minute or two of a headstart. Then before he leaves the table, he drops two 100 dollar bills on the table; his contribution to the tip. He says to Greta - "Thanks for putting on the Eddie Rabbit. Maybe see you later and show you the proper way to talk with a twang over a drink and a game of pool over at the "Moonglow". Besides, I need to pay you back some hair product."
Seeing Oldschool walk out, he says,
"Guess I better posse up!"
and walks out after Oldschool.
When he catches up, he see's Oldschool listening to something. He strains his ears, but doesn't catch what ever it is Oldschool is listening to.
"Dude - either you have the tiniest headphones on ever, or I'm starting to think 'yer superman. What are you listening to?"

ooc: I'll take a Hyper-Hearing FEAT from Oldschool.
Shockwave may spend 100 Karma to attempt the "shotgun microphone effect" - which if developed will work similar to hyper-hearing, via aiming his palm at whatever sound source he's trying to listen to (sort of a Wakandan vibranium hyper-condensing microphone, now that the apertures are installed backwards, heh.) Amplified sound from this effect if sucessful will be emitted from the palm of his other hand, which he can either put to his earbuds in his helmet to listen discreetly, or broadcast out of his palm for others to hear. (And further down the line from this stunt, Shockwave might even someday develop the "aiming sounds at specific people to confuse them / auditory illusion" power stunt... muhahaha)
During a long 14 block stroll through Times Square, Shockwave tests out the modifications made to his armor and finds the speed and control of his flight mode has improved dramatically (from an Excellent power stunt to a Remarkable power) The armor reports no power loss, and more importantly, the Mach stem shockwave generator's internal temperature never rises.
You find yourselves standing a half-block away outside Hank's Tavern. The full moon hangs above the city, watching impassively.
It is 11:54pm.
Late at night, Times Square is a very busy place. Con men and prostitutes fill the streets, along with junkies and pushers. Panhandlers beg for loose change, while performers do back flips and play old musical instruments for money. Even in your strange costumes, you draw only a few stares. A few people make "it's early for Halloween" comments, but the heroes remain mostly unmolested.
Hank's is rocking with a loud techno-rock band inside. Shockwave has been observing Flashing Blades gang members arrive from a subway entrance across from Hank's when Oldschool and Flashdance arrive.
The garage door to the left of the main entrance is closed, and emblazoned with graffiti that says "Flashing Blades" - a gang territory marker. Two thugs Shockwave had observed playing hackeysack in front of Hank's have gone inside the bar. Out front, a thug dancing to the music with a Halloween glowstick occasionally stops and appears to be making quick exchanges of money and handshakes to other thugs and bar patrons - possible drug deals.
A few rough looking thugs wearing silvery powder blue and blood red pads and helmets on skateboards and roller blade skates have a halfpipe ramp set up on the lot next to the bar, running some sort of gauntlet joust on skates against each other with lead pipes. The sport is somewhat brutal, but the observers and participants all seem to be enjoying the spectacle. Occasionally one or two will yell "Flashing Blades! Yeah!" and smash beer bottles against the side of the building, and / or unlucky passing cars.
The Flashing Blades gang is getting their rowdy on.

ooc: Shockwave may elect to spend an additional 12 Karma to make his Power Stunt attempt Red (and sucessful) If not, the next attempt will require another 100 Karma and a Red result. If made into a successful power stunt (now or later) the second use of the power stunt will require a Red result, the third a Yellow, and after that it works on a Green. I think it's obvious Shockwave will spend the 12 Karma to make it a Red and have the sucessful investment for starting down the road of developing this power stunts, but my lawyers say I have to ask... ;D

Locking his sonic accumulator built into the gauntlet of his armor onto the wall of the bar, Shockwave begins trying to filter out the loud music to see if he can pull any frequencies likely to be voices, and then projecting the filtered input for everyone to hear.
"I'm not sure how well this will work, since I really haven't tried it before. Should be interesting if nothing else."

Shockwave theorizes that with the reversed Wakandan Vibranium apertures in his gauntlets he could pull sound from a distance with one aimed gauntlet He gave it a try and somehow it worked, channeling the sound to be emitted from the palm of his other hand loud enough for Flashdance and Oldschool to hear.
He pans his hand in front of him... bringing conversations into earshot even as his sonic generator's ambient filtering software screened out the noise of the band playing inside Hank's Tavern....
"...hear what happened to the Gutter Pirates and BDK's earlier?"
"Yeah, Hammerhead dusted them fools off."
"Bullsh*t! If Hammerhead wanted some fool greased off he'd have done it himself."
"Man how long does it take for this sh*t to kick in?"
"It's really a matter of body weight and cadiovascular pressure and the blood content of the substance to determine cellular penetration and the body's tolerance for rapid neo-peptide sequencing..."
"Dude, what the f*ck did you just say?"
"Relax yourself, my friend Cutthroat. What I'm saying is Reed Richards is a moron."
"Whoa, check it out, his head is growing! Hey y'all..."
"...told you not to hesitate when I gave an order. You're afraid of breaking your arm again? Tommy, break both of this punkass' arms and put his ass up on the joust ramp. You don't have to fear breaking your arm. We're gonna break 'em for you. Hey, if he cries out in pain without my permission, break his damn legs."
"You got it Raxor."

Oldschool laughs at Flashdance's comments.
"I'm saving my flight powers and heater vision for when the chips are really down. Like when we need more pizza. Flight to go grab it and heater vision to keep it warm, bro."
Oldschool had read Superman comics since he was a kid. He wondered, now, how it all worked. Superman was a real life superhero. Did he have a deal with the comic company, he wondered. Or, did they do it without his permission?
Oldschool wondered if they'd be making a comic about them one day. That wouldn't get him out of the poor house, but it would be rewarding, however selfish.
"Just seeing if I can make anything out. The noise and music isn't making it easy at all..."
Hyper-Hearing...
