One last note on Flashdance. I have some points left over that I was going to sink into a combat weapon (a suped up staff, or possible a hightech baseball bat). I wasn't sure if it would be overkill though. Any Judge's thoughts?

Entirely up to you. There's nothing saying you have to squeeze every last point out. If it feels good, it's probably good. Go with your gut. If you're worried about dealing max damage, please don't... I can't speak for DSk, but I think were fairly similar in that we both enjoy roleplayers over min/maxers and will reward good, 'in character' posts. There's always more than one way to beat a bad guy... maybe that's a bad example since you asked about bats...which are actually fairly good for beating people, lol.

Hmmm, I think then I will write in just a normal aluminum baseball bat for him. Somehow it just seem like it would add in more roleplaying opportunities. Somehow the scene of swinging at the Thing with a regular baseball bat for all he's worth with the result of almost breaking his hand, followed up with a sheepish grin comes to mind.
For what it's worth, the bat will at least be painted to match his outfit :-)

A teleporter with a baseball bat.
That's just sick.
I like it.

HISTORY Kassandra Singer is the daughter of Marcus Singer, an Afro-American mutant who was a private investigator, and Sonja Boyanov, a Romani Magi who specializes in divination magic. Marcus’ mutant ability was regeneration, something that he kept hidden from all but his closest confidants, instead he cultivated the imagine that he was simply one tough bastard. This was put to the test when Kassandra was ten years old when he tried to save a bus full of children from a serial bomber; the kids made it to safety but he was not so lucky. After this his wife Sonja retreated to the sanctity of the magi society to raise their daughter. Within a year Kassandra began to manifest the ability to spontaneous cast spells without the benefit of proper training, and like her father she kept her abilities a secret while discreetly helping out her friends. By the time she entered high school she had read a vast number of books on the occult trying to understand he unique gift, and had come to the conclusion that there must be a scientific reason to explain the things she could do. To this end she dove headlong into studying a number of scientific disciplines to better understand physical reality, to the point that she was rewarded an academic scholarship to Empire State University. At this point the Singer legacy has come full circle, while not a private investigator like her father Kassandra does help out people in the old neighborhood, her mother runs a spiritual shop and from time to time she lends her a daughter a hand with a case; though she wishes her daughter would just focus on her studies.
PERSONALITY Beneath her beauty Kassandra is a stern individual, with the strong, disciplined mind needed to control her abilities. She is willing to do what ever it takes to solve a problem (though she will not cheat). She is devoted to her mother.

Elixir Evan McMillan

F) RM (30) A) RM (30) S) GD (10) E) IN (40) R) RM (30) I) GD (10) P) GD (10)
Health: 110 Karma: 50 Resources: TY (6) Popularity: 0
Powers: Lung Adaptability - No rank (20) Digestive Adaptability - No rank (20) Chemical Touch - IN (10+40+6) -> Can exude any chemical that can be replicated using Chemical Mimicry -> Nitroglycerin -> Truth Serum -> Hallucinogens -> Anesthetic -> Knockout Gas -> Chloroform Chemical Mimicry - IN (10+40+8) -> In addition to the chemicals listed above: -> Titanium (IN Strength, Endurance, Body Armor, no change to health) -> Helium Catalytic Control - IN (10+40+5) -> Cause reactions that are normally impossible -> Knocking out self-powered machinery -> Slow down biological functions -> Increase Strength and Endurance by increasing metabolism -> Collapse target by hastening decay
Talents: Chemistry, First Aid, *Medicine
Contacts: Local Hospital
Background: Evan is a current post graduate young adult, who is living month to month in a low rent apartment. He is currently studying medicine, but hasn't gotten very far yet. He does volunteer at the local hospital, doing what he can to help out. He works odd jobs, mostly physical labor, due to his high stamina and non-existent sick days.
More significantly, Evan discovered his powers while in school, using them to slow down a choking man's metabolism until paramedics arrived. At that point he began to experiment with his powers, and found that he could convert most anything into breathable or edible material subconsciously. He found that with concentration he could replicate many chemicals on his skin surface, but also take on their characteristics in his body.
Determined to make good use of his powers, Evan keeps an ear out for any happenings that may require some powered assistance. He has been practicing his fighting skills regularly (he won many competitions in his childhood) and has a costume and crime fighting identity created. He has however, never used them.
Evan's greatest desire is to help mankind, either as a hero, or as a doctor (eventually). He believes that his body may hold the answer to curing many of mankinds ills if he can learn enough to discover its secrets. His idol is Batman, a hero who does not kill, and who works tirelessly to help those who cannot help themselves.
Personality: Evan first comes across as a young athlete, large in frame, and relatively good looking. Once people talk to him though, they realize that he has a passion for helping others, be it doing volunteer work, or learning medicine. He always seems calm, and he hasn't blown his temper seriously yet. Who knows what will happen then? In his free time, Evan likes to try new restaurants. Due to his adaptations, he has a very poor sense of taste and smell. He likes his food especially spicy to try to overcome this and is always looking for something new to try. While he is confident in his abilities, he is green to heroing, and will likely take direction from those who seem to have more experience than he.
Modifier Notes: -4 CS to be Tracked +4 CS resistance to liquid or solid toxins Poisonous to eat Can eat and digest any matter Can breath any liquid or gas +1 CS on matters of chemistry +1 CS on medical problems, medications, poisons, and surgery

Another complex character that needs some thinking about. Powers that don't see a lot of use, but are definately useful. Very interesting mix of power stunts as well.

Thanks, I'm open to any feedback, up to and including "okay, thanks for throwing that out there...how about something else".

Some Irony on this is that I believe both Lung Adaptability and Digestive Adaptability were pointed out as powers that nobody would actually ever take when using points to make a character, so I have to applaud both. Not that I get a say in whether the character passes or not (that's up to Task and DS), I like the originality on this one. The power set is kind of "out there". I'm still getting my head around the powers a bit, especially chemical mimicry which has one of the worst writeups in the UPB.
One question...what made you decide to go with IN fighting? The fighting doesn't seem to be necessary with the rest of the concept. Not say it's bad or wrong. Just want to know your line of thinking since based on the rest of the character, I'd have probably done that stat different. (I'd have probably gone even higher End in it's place.)
A second question...are you picturing the character as currently being a med student? In classes or on rotations? (You might start using a lot of those sick days you never use once you start superheroing.)
Development Note: Another useful power stunt to develop in the future - Superglue

Thanks for the comments I went with a high Fighting because most of the chemical based powers (other than catalytic control) are touch based. So in order to use them to effect, he'd actually have to contact his combatant. I could go with an alternative that would have him produce the chemical and then throw it using agility and balance those out more. I limited attributes to IN per the guidelines posted by TasK in the character creation section. However, if I were to disregard those ( ) and go with throwing I'd go with something like F) EX A) EX S) GD E) AM. I think I'd also swap nausea with suspend life functions, in order to help keep folks alive 'till help arrives. Right now he's a recent graduate, who's on a short break while he preps for standardized testing and gets applications going. Once he gets accepted then he would have some definite challenges with both classes and rotations (i.e. the Peter Parker syndrome). Oh, and I love superglue! ;D Mike.

Hiya Mike / Jawbreaker, I will say that when I saw the name "Jawbreaker" I immediately thought "Awesome! A martial artist!" so not seeing a martial artist named Jawbreaker and the power set of Elixir actually surprised me. Must be that -4CS against Tracking, LOL Let me bone up on the power descriptions and get back to you. Between you and me (and everyone else) I'm not all that fond of points based character creation systems anymore. For the Gang Wars Trilogy game, I'm pretty much "keep everything less than Amazing" Heh, I made an unintentional pun there, but we're less than amazing
