In the confusion of the angry tenants swarming the SWAT cops for shoving down an old man, Vendetta pulls his bike up to Solo, barely even slowing down as Solo hops on with Spellbound's body over his shoulder.
And they zoom off down Archer Street.
ooc: it wasn't planned that ninjas with bows would show up on that street, it just kinda happened LOL
Globules of glowing plasma swirl around the bike as Solo concentrates hard on teleporting with so much payload.
And then suddenly....
In a blur and flash, the scene changes and Vendetta locks up the brakes of the bike just as it crashes through the front door of the homeless shelter, skidding to a halt in the open dining area next to Elixir and Jenkins, who are kneeling over Shockwave on the floor. Shockwave is bleeding profusely from a wound to the hip. Elixir is holding the outer casing assembly of the armor on Shockwave's upper right leg, from hip to knee. It is bent and slightly mangled, as if Elixir ripped it off with sheer strength in his titanium body form. Sparks crackle from exposed circuitry mingling with spilled blood.
The first thing Solo and Vendetta notice is how strangely quiet it is inside the homeless shelter. The motor of Vendetta's bike is running, but no sound is to be heard. Likewise, for all the commotion in the homeless shelter, people are gesturing and lips are moving but there is no sound whatsover.
Flashdance lays unconscious and bleeding from a deep chest wound nearby.
Vendetta has experienced this effect once before. During a sonic emitter cannon project he and Mike Sherman (Oldschool) had once worked on together for the Defense Department trying to design a weapon strong enough to take down the Hulk. Their first work together, years ago before Sherman was a superhero. Years before the two partnered up to start a weapons design business that failed when Stark International pulled contracts from them. Years before the gang shootout that killed his girlfriend.
Vendetta immediately knew what this effect was. Unshielded Vibranium absorbing every bit of sound in its vicinity. Very novel characteristic of Wakandan Vibranium. Wakanda is one of the most quiet places on the Earth due to the Vibranium there, as the old joke goes.
And sure enough, Vendetta saw the gray-silver metal incorporated in coils in the exposed inner mechanisms of Shockwave's armor. Shockwave's armor framework seemed to be based on Guardsman armor. It seemed Jenkins and Elixir were trying to remove the armor forceably. A gawking homeless man comes forward with an acetylene torch. They obviously are unaware of the location of the external unlocking mechanisms. Vendetta could find them easily with a quick search, get the armor off the wounded area faster, and spare Shockwave's beautiful armor design further vandalism.
And then something else catches Vendetta's eyes inside Shockwave's exposed circuitry. Coiled with the Wakandan Vibranium is Antarctic Vibranium, the "anti-metal," with a thin layer of ceramics seperating them. If that ceramic sealing is broken, the W-Vibranium and A-Vibranium will react violently. And the A-Vibranium will instantly melt everything made of metal in the immediate area. Vendetta's bike. His and Solo's weapons. The steel chairs and tables. The support beams that make up the framework of the homeless shelter.
And Elixir.
Not good, and no one can hear each other.
======
Elixir sees Vendetta and Solo crash through the homeless shelter's front doors and skid to a stop. Noticeably missing from this incredible scene is noise. No sound emerges from the splintered doors hitting the floor, the screeching skid of the bike on the floor even as it lays down a thick black stripe on the concrete floor. Even Vendetta's bike emits no noise.
Solo is carrying Spellbound over his shoulder. She appears lifeless as Solo sets her on the floor.
Elixir's hands start to itch and burn as he tries to strip Shockwave's armor free of his wound.
=====
I need a Reason + Chemistry FEAT from Elixir to see if he realizes he's exposed Wakandan Vibranium and that the anti-metal Antarctic Vibranium is also present in Shockwave's armor innards.
(If Elixir makes this FEAT roll he'll realize both how much danger his titanium form is in, not to mention everything metal in the vicinity.)
I need a Reason + Engineering (Battlesuit Design) FEAT from Vendetta to figure out how to get Shockwave's armor couplings to release so his wound can be treated.... and to keep Elixir from killing himself and everyone in the room accidently if he mars the ceramic coating of the A-Vibranium cores and vaporizes the metal holding the roof up among other things.
All in a day's work![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)
Everyone declare actions and roll initiatives.
Flashdance remains bleeding away....
Remember that no sound is possible until Shockwave's exposed W-Vibranium is shielded again... and Vendetta's the only one who knows how to do it....
