Shockwave sees the two thugs heading away from the battle almost directly in front of his flight path, and considers taking the two of them down. However, with Felicia still in trouble behind him, he circles around back in her direction, spotting her being held at gunpoint.
This isn't good at all. Maybe I should have gotten her and ignored the thugs. How do I get her out of this mess without getting her shot now. If only I had time to think and plan out a solution... idiot. There is no time to test and analyze in the field. Just react. But how...
Shockwave reduces his speed so he doesn't get too close to Felicia and the thug, hoping that might put him at ease...then unleashes a stunnng blast of sound hoping to catch him by surprise, but also hoping that if his accuracy is off, it won't hurt Felicia.

OCC - did my init roll above make any sense at all? It looks really garbled to me. If it does for you as well, here is a re-roll. If it looks good, then disregard this roll. I am in a coffee shop responding (yes... my office is generally what ever coffee shop I am in!) and the connection is slow and might have corrupted the post

Oldschool set the officer down gently before turning to look the direction the other officer was screaming. A street thug was taking someone hostage, a bus driver by the look of him.
This was getting bad. Real bad.
He tried to refrain from selfish thoughts, but it was hard not to think that this had nothing to do with getting the book back for Mr. Pride. There was no monetary reward for any of this chaos.
He wondered how Spiderman did it. Probably a millionaire playboy in his public ID!
Oldschool moved to confront the thug holding the bus driver hostage. His hands were held high passively. He intended to talk the man out of what he was about to do...

OOC: Just some notes here on how impossible some of the actions declared are. Normally I would NOT pre-empt something like this but perhaps the map isn't clear, so I'm going to allow Solo and Oldschool to redeclare their actions after considering the following. Initiative rolled will remain the same:
BDK#6 has hijacked the bus, and the bus is in motion. Solo does not have a clear shot at him. Also, Solo can't get a clear shot at BDK #1 and #2, much less see them as there is around 7 areas filled with trees and unseen fleeing people between them. If he hits anything with submachine gun fire, it'll most likely be a tree or a innocent person.
Oldschool can't talk BDK #6 out of hijacking the bus. He done done it and the bus full of passengers is rolling out!
If the bus has to be pursued across 5th Avenue and into a more urban setting, well... I'm having fun making maps ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

OOC: If you would not normally pre-empt something like this then for my part, I do not want you going against how you would normally do so. I did mistake the 'Bus Passengers' for the location of the bus and did believe I would have enough time to talk to BDK#6 before they took off. It was both a misread of the map and your post. The difference between written rpg and tabletop is that often you don't get the clarification that you normally would see as we all discussed it across the pizza boxes and beer. The impossibility of my declared intentions for Oldschool was not meant to offend. ))Oldschool stumbled in disbelief. The bus was way further than he had first thought. His heightened sight had once again blown up in his face and lead him to believe that it was only a matter of yards and not the distance he had thought. Worse, the bus was already taking off, away from the scene. He could see the innocent passengers on board. It was more than just the bus rider. Many people could die if he screwed this up... But what could he do? Every second he hesitated the bus built speed. What little momentum he had built to bolster his confidence with the rescue of the police officer, fizzled with self-doubt. One foot stepped in front of the other, not running... not exactly walking. He was moving forward, but that's where similarities ended between what he was doing now and what intelligent people called 'walking'. I'll hold off and wait for the next round. Should I survive, I'll re-roll my intiative and chase the dang bernit bus. ))

OOC: no problem and no offense taken. My pre-emption was mostly for Solo because of the intervening trees obscuring his target(s), and that BDK #6 technically reached the bus just seconds after Oldschool and the cop set the unconscious cop down. I'm not going to pre-empt unfairly, just in cases where the from the character's perspective, the action declared is impossible (such as shooting unseen targets or talking to someone in a vehicle moving away). If you'd like, we can move Oldschool this round (3 areas) as he chases the bus on foot and start him next round around where you see the sparks flying off of the lamp post being dragged by the bus. At that point he'll see BDK #1 and BDK #2 leap into the bus, for the always fun moving vehicle hostage situation ;D
I can see this battle scene is going to cross 5th Avenue (off map) and hit the city streets. Especially when Solo's teleportation is charged up and if he goes after the bus, from the inside. What Solo's teleportation lacks in being usable every round, he more than makes up for with range and accuracy. The guy can be anywhere on Earth he wants to be, though having been there before or seeing his destination is definitely easier.

OOC: Karma works like that. All our good karma's going to be used up for Initiatives and car-door removals. When we need to make Endurance saves, the bad will kick in.
Oldschool moving towards the bus and noticing the two goons works for me. Feel free to auto me to gel it perfectly with everything else. Permission granted respectfully ))

))((OOC Okay I thought it would be okay since I mesured it out and it was still in the range, and I didnt see other people there and forgot about the trees in Solos Bloodlust ))(((OOC Using the Power of RETCON!) After Solo has punished evil, he looked at the wierdly dressed man, who was probably a cape, with a slight grin,"Thanks Citizen, for youre help! Nice boots by the way!" he said while quickly putting back his knives. Solo atempts to shoot BDK#5 in the head, then go to the wounded (or dead) civilians at BDK #7 and try to help them (first aid), while being vigilant and killing BDK#7 if hes not dead.
