Depends on how you define "threat." I don't think Solo's carrying anything that can hurt Shockwave's armor without a bullseye's shot in the right place Shockwave and Windchill are around 3 rounds of flying at top speed away from the scene of the explosion. But Shockwave might notice something on the way that is sufficiently distracting

Yes, I imagine Shockwave is quite familiar with the insides of a Dreadnought robot, enough to determine (from his SHIELD R&D background) where they were built and such, and with the right equipment, possibly reprogram one. Or, if anything, make upgrades to the strength enhancers of his own armor with spare parts from the robots, provided custody of can be taken of them before SHIELD or another agency impounds them after the heroes knock them to pieces. As for Solo, we're got two characters (Flashdance and Spellbound) that have vested interests in seeing him off to the Paladin Institute or in joining the group of heroes in hunting for the book, and an NPC group (the Paladin Institute) with their own covert means of bringing Solo in. As far as Flashdance knows, the Paladin Institute wants to clear Solo's name. And, there is "some" truth to that As fun as running a seperate Solo solo game was to blend back into the main story, I'd rather have everyone in one mission at the same time for a while. I sort of see Solo's ideals and the group's ideals "meeting half way" at least towards a common enemy. Solo will of course earn more Karma for villains he lets live, LOL. (I don't recommend forming a group Karma pool with Solo if he's going to keep on killing) This game is unique in that it's set within the backdrop of early 1980's Marvel storylines, earlier than Solo made his "official" first appearance in Marvel storylines, so while I'm expecting Solo's player to be the counter-terrorist killa we all know and love, the Omega Strike mission that framed him is still one year fresh in his mind and the opportunity to clear his name (and take the character history in a new direction) is there. But that's entirely up to Solo (and the other heroes too, I mean he did toss a flashbanger into a cop's face right in front of the heroes just because the cop was trying to blow his head off for killing street gang members in front of them ) If future new players take up other "prequel" characters to their appearance in my meticulous Marvel / DC timeline, they'll get the opportunity to take them in new directions as well. Right now, I'm still letting events decide things on how / why the group gets their eventual financial backing and an HQ (and from who, of 4 candidate agencies, Paladin being one of them).

I put a bunch in my declaration, feel free to limit what I've put in. Also, I think regular catalytic control might be enough to trigger an explosion by increasing the heat created by normal oxidation. Once this round is done, then I will be trying to drain the power supply as well.

Holidays went great. Our daughter's Christmas gift stash has made our house look like a princess castle, and I got a couple new games. Don't get Torchlight - it will bleed your time dry! Wife is due Feb 11 but is staying in relatively good spirits. All and all a nice end to a bumpy year.
I've got my first post holiday meeting in the morning. We'll see if my, um, shapely physique survived the holiday when I put on my meeting clothes... :-p

What is the right answer on power sources for Dreadnaughts? I don't know as a player, but assuming Shockwave would know. Dreadnoughts are powered by a deuterium slush fueled magnetic flux that contains a pellet of anti-matter that if imbalanced will cause a 500 Teraton explosion suitable enough to knock the Earth out of orbit and plunging at near-light speeds towards the Sun. Just kidding I assume they're powered by a electrochemical battery (Nickel-Cadmium) that requires recharging, or perhaps a small hydrogen cell. I was also going to include in their internal design some "Promethium" which in DC Comics is an energy source and near-indestructible metal and in Marvel Comics is a metal found in Belasco's Limbo (I haven't worked out the differences there) Shockwave would know their power source is chemical in nature and requires recharging.

After doing some research OOC on Dreadnoughts I've come up with designs for project I.L.I.A.D. Hopefully we can take one of these things relatively intact. We'll have tech jobs to do for a long time to come.
