I don't know if I can trust this organization again, after what has happened, flashdance", Solo looked at Spellbounds covered corpse with a slightly mad expression,"look what happened. If we would have gotten some better intel, maybe spellbound would have lived. Im not sure Paladin has the best interests for us. There is more here at stake here then we can possebly fathom. I will be going back to my place, Shockwave can reach me if Im needed. Is there something I should know, before I go?"

Flashdance tries to calm Solo's apprehensiveness about working with the Paladin Institute.
"I admit they are very secretive about what they do, and play things pretty close to their vests. But I also know they've been around for a very long time, and have quite a lot of resources at their disposal. Would you at least go with us and hear what they have to say? They really arent out to screw anyone over, and are just as victimized by this intrigue and stirrings up of trouble by HYDRA as any of the gangs at each other's throats. What do you say, give them a chance to come clean with what they can help us with? Arc told me on of the higher ups is coming, a guy named Vigil. He's as creepy as a late night movie but very handy with healing and such. He could probably fix me up without a scar. Hell, he could probably heal any scars you have on you from years ago."
Flashdance didn't add in the part about his orders to keep Solo around....
Flashdance offers to Vendetta that the Paladin Institute does have internet access, and much much more.

Windchill fidgets, walking around the homeless shelter dining area wearing a borrowed jogging suit jacket and pants that do not match and nearly worn out shoes.
"I need a new costume. Hell I don't even remember if I left my wallet back in my dorm room or if it got lost."
Windchill overhears Elixir talking to Shockwave about accelerating his metabolism to heal up faster, and says "I've never felt so alive in my life after what Elixir did to me. I won't lie, it hurt like a sunavabitch, but I feel like I'm in control of my powers again."
Windchill points at the open doorway and a light breeze blows out the door. "Still not at full strength, but I'm recovering."
Then, as an out of place afterthought, Windchill asks Elixir, "Do you still have that syringe of Kick? Until my powers went haywire, that stuff made me feel good. Really good. Really really good. Better than ever."
Windchill lifts his jacket and scratches at the pinkish circle on his abdomen, the scar from the Dreadnought's spike. "Still a little numb."
Going back to the phonebook, he sits next to Rin as the kid eats a bowl of cereal.
After a few moments, Windchill pipes up, "Guys, I think I found Spellbound's mother's phone number."

Shockwave winces under his mask as he tentatively gets up, trying to test his leg. The pain can be heard in his voice, although he tries not to let it show, "How long does this metabolism thing take? We should head out for the tower soon. We have an awful lot of work to do. We need to figure out what our next move is, and how we are going to avoid a repeat of last night."

ooc: if Shockwave is consenting to Elixir's "accelerated healing" catalytic control power stunt experiment (inter-character dialogue will work that out) I'm going to need the FEAT roll to determine success / amount of Karma spent on achieving the initial Red FEAT attempt.
Everyone's not due to show up back at the Angel Towers building until 1:00pm. It's roughly 11:00am at the homeless shelter, giving time to address the Spellbound's body situation and perhaps give Solo time to "go shop(lift)ing" and check his email

to Flashdance:"Ill listen to these these guys, because you seem like an honest person, and you really believe what you say. I just advise you to use caution, these government secret ops can be a real pain in the butt, I should know."
Solo adresses the group, "Okay guys tell you what, you seem to be handling this greatly. I need to get out of this civilian garb, and check some things quick at my place. Ill meet you guys infront of the tower around 1:30, 1:45", Solo needed his space, alot has happened, and he needed to prepare for the coming storm, which was coming he was sure about it. Also he was ready to leave the group, he just wanted to find a way to erase his paladin file, if he could. With that he teleported to his base in brazil. He undressed took a quick shower, put on one of his replacement combat gear, ate some military rations he had here, and checked his emergency laptop (all as secure as possible to check for messages).

"Yes, I've still got the sample, but I need to study it to see what the actual makeup is."
Elixir seems oblivious to the possibility of withdrawal symptoms.
"Shockwave, I don't know how long it will take, I think it will depend on how you respond to the beginning and if it looks like its working then I'll speed it up further."

/ooc I forgot - I'm putting 250 karms into my advancement pool ooc/ Noted, but for what? You have to state what you're advancing and what rank point level you're wanting to advance it to before cashing it in. ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png)
I'll work up a new Karma Advancement pool tally post in the cheat sheet thread.

"Alright, let's get you back in bed then while I give this a go. Let me know how it feels so that I can speed up or slow down."
Once Shockwave is back in bed and prepped, Elixir will feel out the wound (gently!) in his leg and focus on his attempt at enhancing his natural recuperation.

ooc: with an 82% roll, Elixir spends a total of 113 Karma for the Red FEAT to establish Remarkable (30) "Healing Acceleration" as a "succeeded once" power stunt of his Catalytic Control power. Functionally, it will decrease natural healing times of targeted wounds by a factor of the rank number. For example, at the current level a wound that takes 30 days to fully heal will fully heal in 1 day.
The process described below takes almost an hour to complete...
=====
With such a deep puncture wound in Shockwave's leg, Elixir knows from his basic medical knowledge that Shockwave would naturally recover from it within a month, leaving only a mild soreness. He also knows that as healing progresses, the pain will diminish but the first two stages of the four stage healing process are the most painful.
Healing comes in four stages:
1.) Hemostatis 2.) Inflammatory 3.) Proliferative 4.) Remodelling
Much of the hemostasis stage actually began when Shockwave was initially wounded, bleeding profusely. Upon injury, a set of complex biochemical events took place in Shockwave's leg in a closely orchestrated cascade to repair the damage. Within minutes post-injury, platelets (thrombocytes) attempted to aggregate at the injury site to form a fibrin clot. This clot acts to control active bleeding (hemostasis). This process was unable to succeed due to the depth of the wound and the perforation of a sural artery, thusly without immediate treatment and suturing, Shockwave would have lost enough blood to cause cellular asphyxiation, leading to necrotic tissue damage and irreversible infections as foreign matter and dead tissue compounded the dysfunction of the hemostasis process exponentially, leading to a need to amputate Shockwave's leg to save his life.
Fortunately, last night Elixir had been able to suture Shockwave's sural artery while still relatively freshly damaged, thus bringing balance to the the hemostatic stage where the free bleeding was stopped and his body's natural clotting agents were able to form fibrin "bridges" over and through Elixir's stitches overnight as they closed the wound and coagulated remaining open capillary conduits. The wound area was still tender and fresh, yet thin and fragile. Any vigorous activity might tear the stitches out, and Shockwave would begin bleeding again. Elixir accelerated the production of cellular fibrin, weaving further around his stitches to strengthen the latticework of bonds preventing blood loss. This took around 10 minutes to complete, and Elixir knew it was working as the bruised areas around the wound shrank in size and the flesh discoloration diminished from a dark purplish-brown to a reddish-brown encompassed with a thinning yellow-brown. Capillaries would be raking antibodies and caustic foriegn body solvents against the exposed nerve endings even as they are fueled by oxygen osmosis to begin emitting electrochemical alert signals to Shockwave's brain, making his conscious mind keenly aware that his leg hurts like hell.
Elixir knew the next stage would hurt the most. As capillaries restored the flow of antibodies to the wound area, damaged pain receptor nerve endings would repair, and become fully functional. This was necessary to initiate the full functionality of the imflammatory stage, as nerve endings broadcast alert signals which triggered adrenal uptake processes to supress reception of mitosis initiators throughout the body except in the afflicted area. The human physiology is a wondrously efficient construction. Nobody has adequately discovered precisely how the nervous system and circulatory systems communicate through electrochemical reactions to initiate pre-programmed responses in cells, directing them to steer antibodies and debriding agents (and induced pharmaceutical reactants) to physically wounded areas to prioritize their healing. That level of genetic, neurological, and medicinal understanding could likely bring cures to cancer or theoretically, pure biophysical control.
Shockwave's wound was still in the inflammatory stage, throbbingly sore and painful to the touch. Movement hurt. Elixir marveled at how well Shockwave was holding up without anaesthetics and pain-killers, and in the last ten minutes, Shockwave's ability to feel pain ahd become quite exquisitely and vividly restored. He still needed a regimen of antibiotics to stave off infections as the inflammatory phase attempted to phagocytose and remove bacteria and debris, and catalyze biochemical factors that cause the migration and division of cells involved in the later cell division and replicative / proliferative phase.
As Shockwave's pain increased, his heart rate skyrocketed to pump electrochemical code-bearing adrenalines to his wounded leg, and Elixir exponentially increased the efficiency by which this activated proteins which initiated the cells to divide to fill the space left by diminishing necrotic tissues as the bloodstream annihilated them, filling the void with healthy tissues. Elixir regulated the rebuilding to minimize scarring as the inflamatory and proliferative phases overlapped. If Elixir had some sort of microscopic view of the process, he might have more masterfully minimized scarring, however merely mentally visualizing the effect as a catalytic process to mimic time-lapse views of well-treated bullet wounds that Elixir knew from his college coursework reconditioned Shockwave's leg as if it had endured a month's worth of wound track debriding and physical therapy in the span of 40 minutes. The first 20 minutes of which Shockwave braved feeling like his wound was being cleaned by a jackhammer, but the pain subsided to a mere tingling sting as the next 20 minutes passed. Shockwave's wound area continued to shrink until it became a small, slightly indented scar.
During the final 10 minutes of the accelerated healing, Elixir concentrated on the remodeling phase, mentally selecting the catalytic processes that prioritized structural reformation of tissue via cellular replication. Shockwave felt as healthy as someone who had never been shot, and tissues replicated to repair the leg further. Only a light pinkish scar remained.
ooc: Shockwave's Endurance is back to normal, Health fully restored, and his FEATs are no longer impaired by -2CS. But the first 40 minutes of the experiment hurt like a mofo.Quite technically, he needs to go to the rest room, LOL
