I apologize, Ronin. I played a Tank named Oldschool when the rp started. Around Christmas I was MIA with work and unable to post. Judge Dead Sidekick was forced to take Oldschool out of the rp (because I wasn't around to rp him). Judge Dead Sidekick dropped hints that Oldschool was being held (until I was able to come back and rp him). I've been back for a few months (logging in each day), only I didn't want to interupt everyones rping and have put off rping Oldschool until we have an appropriate time to reintroduce him.

That being said, you'll need to work out with Judge Dead Sidekick what kind of character to play. He's been more than fair. I suggest waiting for a response here or even PM him.

What sort of character do you have a preference for, Ronin?

I have no issue playing anything that the group might need, as long as they don't mind dealing with a newbie. I have been roleplaying since 1980, and have played all kinds of games. I have run games for different companies at GenCon and smaller cons and was part of a group that was trying to get the license for DC back in the early eighties...until Mayfair got it.

I am leaning towards a certain character...but I am flexible....

Canonesque...though I think the one in question might be a bit out of the question...

Just to give an approximate level of power of characters, below is the cheat sheet of official characters what were actually included in the modules. Most everything we are playing are home brew characters (with the exception of Solo), but had this as a guideline when looking at whether a character might be too powerful for the rest of the group:

Black Widow, Daredevil, Iron Fist, Moon Knight, Power Man, Spider Man, Cloak, Dagger, Hawkeye, Mockingbird, Shang-Chi.

Basically, everyone has Amazing or under (mostly under) stats and powers, with just a few exceptions.

I almost expect to find out that Oldschool isn't kidnapped at all, but found the deactivated dreadnoughts we left back at the mystery building, and couldn't resist rebuilding and reprogramming.

I have looked at a few things and really don't mind suggestions, I have pm'd the Judge with a general I just want to play and am open to what the group might need.

I'll put a question out in the open then, would Luke Cage be someone that would fit in with what you guys are doing? If so, I could try and do him justice...

Luke Cage could be fun, or maybe a mentalist? Don't think we have that one covered. I'm guessing though if you write up a cool concept regardless of if he or she overlaps you will be good. Good roleplaying is def. appreciated here!

In the game I gave a blurb mention of Power Man and Iron Fist in a flavor text media report of them busting up an extortion ring tied to the European Maggia, loosely based on a PM / IF comic from April 1982, which is roughly "where we are" drawing the Marvel side of historical events from.

I have no problem with established characters except the close attention / research that must be done to cut their histories and experiences back to 1980s comics, or come up with prequel behind-the-scenes scenarios for them if they're a character that hadn't appeared in comics yet (like Solo)

That's the challenge of making this world work... running early 1980s stories in the background of a game module that came out in 1990 transposed onto the year 2009-2010.

One of the hurdles of the Gang Wars Trilogy that will come up later is that the module assumes that the Morlock Massacre has already occured, but by our campaing timeline, it hasn't yet...

Don't worry about all that. It's kept rather straight in my head... sorta.

Luke Cage would be cool, but the others have a point that a Psionic Character would round out the party. But Psionics are hard to roleplay and judge, but I believe its doable.

Haii everyone!!!
Well, after about a couple hours worth of thinking, I thought I would join! (Thanks to DSk's suggestion to come here )

Nothing much to know about me...
I'm 15 (I believe that make me youngest here, if I read correctly ) and live in the land of the free in the hottest state known to man (Aka Arizona).
I LUV playing Pnp's, a good 5 years of my young life taken away by their awesomeness, and got hooked to this no longer than 2 weeks ago (Yes, I'm a newbie, but I learn fast). I obviously go to High School, and I ish a computer-holic *nods*. Hopefully I have enough expirence to role-play well enough as i definately don't have the expirece to build good characters (Mine will be weak, dont worry ).

From what i've read, it seems that everyone is a human being (Aka, nice) and I don't think i'll have difficulty blending in. Hope to see you all soon!
