Task, I'm looking over Vendetta's character origin as a weapons designer and see an angle of connecting him to Oldschool, who is also a weapons designer. Perhaps a former employee or business partner? Or maybe, an old friend looked up after Oldschool gets really pissed about Hammerhead's visit to the homeless shelter... Just shooting "small world" angles here. Either way works for me, however... John is NOT known as being Vendetta, its a secret identity. So Oldschool might know John, but its unlikely he would know Vendetta - although he might recognize John's work (ei. the armour, and the combat bike). also I have looked over the other chars, there is possibly a connection to Spellbound, IF John is still teaching martial arts to girls at the college.

Not sure on a Vendetta - Spellbound connection, as her Martial Arts training likely came from her deceased police officer father as well as studies of more physical invocative forms of mysticism (ophanim, tai chi, yoga, etc.) I was thinking Vendetta would recognize Oldschool as the weapons designer Mike Sherman (since his identity isn't secret) and with the news stories portraying Oldschool involved in the current gang wars in New York, Vendetta might seek him out. I'd love to see what Vendetta, Shockwave, and Oldschool would come up with working together to build a new battle armor powersuit or modifying the captured Dreadnought robots. Of course, we'd have to beg Task to come back and play Oldschool again I don't want to encroach too much on Oldschool's character with the NPC directions I'm taking him (even though he's an alien sent to scout Earth out for an invasion, LOL) The only problem I see with Vendetta's character sheet is that I'm trying to stick to the TSR published Judges Book, Player's Book, and Utlimate Powers Book for sources of powers and talents. I don't much like the additional Martial Arts talents beyond A, B, C, D, and E offered in the homebrew Ultimate Talents Book. Other than that, having another psycho killer vigilante on our hands will be fun. I'm considering springing the Punisher out of Ryker's Island prison in later chapters, because what's a gang war without guerilla warfare?

I'm open to an Oldschool/ Vendetta connection. I'm equally open to either knowing John as a partner at Sherman Industries or knowing him as a peer in weapon design. I'm open to almost any angle as long as it does not disrupt the awesomeness that you guys have attained. As much as I'd love to jump back into the roleplay, I do not want to interfere with the flow. I've been working on some NPC baddies that DSk can use at his convenience. Additionally I've been trying to flesh out the Paladin Institute as it seems to be having more and more importance to the team. As far as the Martial Art talents, DSk, I think it's reasonable that all players should abide by the three books you listed. Home Rules are cool, but they should be rules that the Judge is willing to use and enforce. In this case, you're the Judge and you don't have to be willing to use the additional rules/ talents at this time. I actually like the additional martial arts offered by the Ultimate Talents Book. HOWEVER, I did not use them when I fleshed out Oldschool because you informed us which books you would be using. It's probably my fault for not making that information easier to find in regards to new players. Regardless, I like the character and do not think it would suffer without the additional Martial Arts. Heck, I roleplayed Shang Chi as one of my regular characters with martial arts A, B, C, D and E just fine. Vendetta is strong as a character with or without them. Just my two and half cents.

I would have no objections to dropping some of the martial arts. his Guns do most of the talking Edit: I removed the two extra Martial Arts.

Yes, Task, the Paladin Institute is going to play into the "Janus Directive" (DC Comics) reshuffling of government and government contracting agencies going on in the background (taking "gang wars" into intelligence and law enforcement turf battles) where SHIELD's own internal left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing gets mixed in with the Task Force X / Checkmate / Suicide Squad stuff from DC. Of course, the "Janus Directive" in DC came about because of Kobra, and Kobra's cult is a perfect shoe-in for just another snake-motif branch of Marvel's HYDRA, and of course Kobra's magical / mystical motivations also ties in with AIM / HYDRA and Set's Serpent Crown. Lots of intrigue in the shadows of our little humble game.

Found this cool bike drawing on truemirror.informe.com/I would like to think Vendetta's combat bike looks something like that. Note: I have NOT drawn this myself, and would never assume to be able to

Howdy!
I would like to get involved in something here BUT it has been a Loooong time since I even looked at the rules and I'm afraid I won't remember a whole lot...but I do want to play.
Suggestions welcomed!
I would have no problem posting at least once a day during the week, tend to be away from the laptop on the weekends, but could probably manage a peek every now and again.
Thanks!

Welcome Ronin84!
You might want to check out the classic marvel forever site to brush up on the Advanced Rulebook.
I think the group needs a brick (a super strong character).

Leaping Lizards! I guess i missed that part. It would make an interesting sub-plot, though! "Thanks for the rescue... erm, who the heck is the guy with all the muscles and why'd you guys let him eat all o' my cheezies?!?"
