NATIONAL NEWS Sunday night:
"On Saturday, President Obama was on hand at the Avengers Mansion in New York City to pay tribute to the alien hero Captain Mar-Vell, who succumbed to his long battle with cancer. In a moving ceremony attended by several scores of superheroes, Captain America posthumously named the fallen hero an honorary member of the Avengers. In a surprising move, Superman announced that the Justice League had also named the Kree warrior as an honorary member. Services for the alien hero are to be held off-world at an undisclosed location this week. Contingents from both teams have departed Earth for the funeral.
SHIELD Director Nick Fury has announced that in the temporary absence of Earth's two most prominent superhero teams, his agency would continue to maintain security against any unconventional threats that might arise."
"In other news, a shocking burglary of the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art has authorities baffled. Police have no suspects and are continuing their investigation. The only item stolen was an ancient book, oddly titled "A Madman's Mutterings." The text is several hundred years old and deals with topics pertaining to the supernatural. Because specific details of the crime are being withheld by the authorities, the museum's curator, Mr. Maximilian Pride, refused to comment to reporters, saying only that he would like assistance from the superhero community to find and return the priceless text. When asked if SHIELD would take on the investigation of the theft at the MET in the absence of many superheroes attending Captain Mar-Vell's off-world funeral, Director Nick Fury dismissively said "No." Desperate for assistance, Mr. Pride reiterated his desire for superhuman assistance, asking for those super powered individuals interested in helping recover the book to meet him at the MET at 4:55pm, five minutes before closing, on Tuesday to speak to him."

MONDAY afternoon, 4:45pm, New York Metropolitan Museum of Art
A small contingent of NYC local news media with microphones and cameras have gathered near the entrance of the MET, hoping to catch a glimpse of any heroes that respond to the curator's request for assistance in the recovery of the stolen book.
Most of the reporters are flocking around a weapons designer named Mike Sherman, who came to be known as "Oldschool" after an accident revealed his secret metahuman abilities.
Solo takes advantage of the distraction to teleport into the cover of some bushes near the entrance, the globules of light associated with his sudden arrival blend with the strobes of camera flashes so that none notices the counter-terrorist's arrival as he hunkers down with a drawn weapon. He did notice some minor difficulties in teleporting into Manhattan Island itself, as if there were some sort of interference, but once in the confines of the city he had no difficulties arriving at a secluded spot near the entrance and away from the notice of the gathered media.

After arriving a few blocks south from Central Park, Flashdance leaves the Paladin Institute car, leaping and teleporting rooftop to rooftop on his way to the MET.
As Shockwave walked through the park, his armor's sonar mapping began tracking a human-sized "blip" that disappeared and reappeared, moving closer and closer to the MET from the southeast when he noticed a new arrival in the bushes near the front entrance of the MET. The "blip" continues to approach the MET as well. Some onlookers called him "Shellhead," mistaking his costume for a new Iron Man design.
=====
The reporters pepper Oldschool with questions as they horde around him, flashing cameras and shoving microphones in his face.
"Oldschool! Are you here to help find the stolen book? What can you tell us about 'Madman's Mutterings?' Do you have any comments about the passing of Captain Mar-Vell? How much can you lift? Is it true you brush your teeth with a sandblaster? Are you going to..."
Suddenly the fickle reporters turn to face a new arrival walking up in a blue armored suit, and they swarm him. "Who are you? What are your powers? Are you here to help find the stolen book?"
Flashdance appears atop the roof of the MET, looking down at the small crowd of reporters gathering around two men, one in blue armor, the other in street clothes.
Solo continues to watch the reporters swarm the two arrivals. Shockwave notices that his "sonar blip" has stopped moving, and sees a man in a white and red outfit with a fierce spikey mullet hairstyle, wraparound shades, and holding a baseball bat standing on the roof of the MET overlooking the entrance.
