Today while relaxing at home I started thinking about the fact that most heroes seem to have come from the USA, and while I realize that this is partially because the writers tend to write about places they know, I desided to try and list the heroes I could think of by nationality, counting only Marvel characters as those are the ones I'm most familiar with. After a while I got bored so I stopped but below is the list as far as I made it. USA - Absorbing man - Adam Warlock - Alex Power - Amanda Sefton - American Eagle - Angel/Archangel - Armadillo - Beetle/Mach - Bulldozer - Boomerang - Boom Boom - Blade - Blink - Bucky - Cable - Changeling - Caliban - Callisto - Cloak - Colonel America - Captain America - Captain Marvel - Corsair - Cyclops - Cypher - Cameleon - Daredevil - Doc Samson - Doctor Octopus - Doctor Strange - Dazzler - Deathlock - DumDum Dugan - Electro - Electra - Emma Frost - Falcon - Fixer - Forge - Punsher - Frogman - Firestar - Gambit - Gargoyl - Green Goblin - Ghostrider - Gunslinger - Hammerhead - Hobgoblin - Havoc - Hawkeye - Hellcat - Human Torch - Hulk - Iron Man - Jubilee - Shadowcat - Spiderman - Marvel Girl/Phoenix - Beast - Wasp UK - Captain Brittain - Dorian Grey Ireland - Banshee - Black Tom Germany - Nightcrawler - Baron Strucker - Baron Zemo - Fenris Israel - Sabra Canada - Alpha Flight - Wolverine Africa - Black Panther Russia - Black Widow - Colossus - Crimson Dynamo Egypt - Apocalypse Australian - Gateway anyway my point is, going by how many US-based heroes there are, I must assume that there are many heroes from all over the world we just never hear about. So who are they, and what do they do on an average day? Any ideas?

Considering the populations of China, India and the USA, you'd expect that China and India would have even more heroes and villains (than the US). I could see China using their heroes in their army of 2.3 million in covert operations against evil Tibetan monks or maybe in a huge secret war against India and their many government sponsored heroes and villains.

And don't forget that China has a history of war with Japan, as well as Taiwan whom they at best may consider a rebellious province. I think most of the teams of Japan would be either Government- or Corporate-backed. Corporate teams of Japan would be one of two functions, the fluffy/cute publicity teams who are always working to improve the public opinion of their parent corporation by helping in any and all dangerous situations that might develop, working in unison with the government teams fighting fires/earthquakes/tsunami etc. and the deadly/invisible security teams who work under cover to further the interests of that same coropration. I have a feeling that anyone who displays any kind of superpower in Taiwan would be swept up into the government team, just to make sure that China didnt get any ideas, much like their chinese counterparts. In India I have a feeling that any supers, no matter what caste they were born in, would be raised to the Brahmin(priest) caste immediately upon discovery. Then, backed by government propaganda they would work to better the lives of everyone in India.
