He must be in contact with the energy to absorb it (he can even strike a surface himself to absorb the energy). Whenever Alec is attacked physically (slugfest, missile weapons, charging, concussive rays, etc., but not wrestling) or by Force attacks that must strike him to hurt him (Cyclops’s optic blasts, etc.), the appropriate amount of damage is added to his Health, not deducted.
His Health, if boosted in this manner, can go as high as 380. For every additional 50 points over 80 Health that Alec gains, he shifts his Force Field rank by +1 CS; therefore, at 130 Health his Force Field would be Excellent; at 180, Remarkable; and so on up to the maximum of 380 Health and an Unearthly Force Field.
In the game, this energy dissipates after 10 rounds by increments of 100 Health until he is back to normal. All damage Alec does receive (magic, mental, etc.) is taken off the excess amount of Health first, then his own, and he takes no damage from those attacks he absorbs.
Force Field: Alec can project a force field of Good (10) intensity around himself, but cannot project it around others.

Background:
Alec grew up in small town USA, and spent every minute he wasn't in school, working on engines of any kind he could get his hands on. He loved to watch the monster trucks, drag races, and – well just about any type of racing he could watch in person or on tv.
One day when he was watching a visiting monster truck show with his dad, one of the trucks went out of control, and flipped, rolled, and landed on top of Alec. To every ones astonishment, not in the least his own, Alec pushed the truck off himself, and was completely unharmed. In fact it took almost ½ an hour before the medics could even touch him, because of his projected force field, to check that he was in fact not hurt. The press called it a miracle, but back in his home town, people had a different view of what happened. The local minister, preached that all mutants were devilspawn, and so he said that Alec had made a pact with the devil, and people began shunning him.
Embittered and disappointed, Alec packed a bag, and took the first Greyhound out of town, leaving his highschool sweetheart, his family and the town behind. Now he roams from town to town, working on engines, and helping people. There are rumours (true) that he once took on a biker gang who were terrorizing a small town, and drove them out of town, when the local sheriff had been unable to do anything about the problem.

Curtis Tyler was a inventor who started his own business, Teknique Inc, a electronics firm in Memphis, Tennessee after graduating from The University of Georgia. However he proved to be a poor businessman as Teknique Inc was barely successful in the cutting edge world of high technology and he also made deals with people that have such dubious moral character like Sunset Bain and Justin Hammer though he had dated Sunset off and on a few times over the years and maintained a relationship with her that bordered on mutual respect based on a certain degree of professionalism if not true friendship. Tyler was also totally unaware of her criminal identity of illegal arms dealer Madame Menace.
Desperate to gain a defense contract bid to build low powered yet effective armor for the Memphis police department against his long time competitor PIT (Pyramid International Technology), Tyler had brought certain circuitry components from Hammer at great cost, unaware that they were stolen from Stark Enterprises.
Iron Man at the time launched the so called "Armor Wars" to destroy remnants of the stolen S-circuits that fell into the hands of technologically armored criminals because of Justin Hammer selling them and promptly destroyed the prototype Cyberhawk battle suit designed by Tyler before he could unveil it before the Memphis city council. While Tyler was not a criminal, he arrogantly refused to sell the suit to Iron Man's alter ego, Tony Stark.
Iron Man could not take the chance of the armor and its stolen electronic circuitry being misused like the Mandroids of S.H.I.E.L.D. or the Vault's Guardsmen armors so he took it upon himself to destroy the armor.
Needless to say Teknique Inc. had lost the contract and the city soon rewarded PIT with more than enough funding to eventually develop and create their patented Pitbull armor.
To this very day, Tyler nurses a bitter grudge against both Tony Stark and Iron Man.
Undaunted, he rebuilt the Cyberhawk suit some years later and began personally field testing it in hopes of getting another contract to mass produce the high tech armor.
At least that was the original plan.....

Fire Control In (40) - Pyretta can control existing flames, whether natural or Power-based. She can alter any factor involved in combustion without direct physical contact. Pyretta can increase or decrease the flame's Intensity up to her Power rank and reduce fire damage by her rank number. This Power includes Power rank Resistance to Fire and Heat.
The most important aspect of this Power is enabling Pyretta to reshape flame into any form she desires. This can be used in a variety of Power stunts, as Pyretta develops numerous fiery constructs to perform miscellaneous deeds.
Such fiery constructs do not act like normal flames. They emit less heat and consume less oxygen. Their fire doesn't spread past the outline of the constructs. In addition, they self-extinguish rapidly upon cessation of this Power.
Thermal Vision - Pyretta can see infrared light and heat images. This allows Pyretta to see in the dark, perceive temperature differences (especially those left by a living person's contact with an object), and partially see through solids. In the last case, Pyretta can only see the heat patterns of objects touching the other side of the barrier.
With practice, Pyretta can judge the temperature of a target by its thermal color. Pyretta has an increased risk of being blinded by strong heat sources, even those that don't affect normal vision (-1CS). Thermal vision is Pyretta's normal means of vision.

Angeline was a bored rich girl in Memphis. She did all the things that were expected of her, but she was bored out of her mind. One day when she was visiting her father at his chemical company, there was an accident and she got caught in a lab with some experimental new compounds which unfortunately exploded. Somehow she managed to get away with mostly 1st and 2nd degree burns, although she did have severe burns around her eyes, and was unconsious for 4 days. When she woke up she spent another 3 weeks in the burn ward before they removed the bandages from her eyes and she discovered that she could no longer see in the usual sense. Instead she now saw in thermal vision, but she somehow managed to keep this fact from her nurses and doctors. After she was released from the hospital, she tried to return to a normal life, but fate had different plans. Shortly after she returned to her college education at the University of Phoenix in Memphis there was a fire on campus. This is where she discovered that she could control fire, and after a few failed attempts she managed to subdue the fire long enough for her fellow students to escape. While she still attends college, Angeline now lives for her new thrill, Pyretta Blaize...
