Known Powers- Darkforce Manipulation at Gd (10) Power Rank.
Renegade can, through mental concentration, generate and manipulate the strange extra-dimensional energy known only as The Darkforce. Currently at the moment he can only use the power to form crude solid objects though over time and experience, Renegade can do more with this power.
Power Stunt- He can create two, two foot long batons of solidified Darkforce energy which are similar to the Escrima fighting sticks such as those used in the Philippines. The batons, although made of Darkforce energy, is solid enough to have Gd (10) Material strength. He can create either one or two of the batons if needed.
The batons, in turn inflicts Blunt attack damage of Gd (10) rank. He can instantly make them appear onto his hands and dissipate them into nothingness at will.
Shadowshaping- Rm (30) Power Rank. Renegade can affect normal shadows, shifting the location and size as well as increase and decrease the intensity of said shadows. By using his very own shadow, he can create a crude two-dimensional shadow image of himself that has no features to which he can mentally command to do his bidding. Through the shadow, Renegade can see and hear everything the shadow construct transmits at a distance of Rm (30) range of up to 1 mile as if he possesses Remote Sensing. The shadow is solid enough to the point it can do Power rank Edged (30) damage to real targets ignoring armor like the Two-Dimensionality power but it only has Power rank protection of Ty (6) due to its semi-solid state.
He also has the ability to see through any shadow as if it were a normally lit area provided its Intensity is less than or equal to his Power rank. This not apply to Darkforce however.
He also has Power rank Resistance Rm (30) to shadow based powers, including his own power which explains on how he can move about and fight inside his cloud of darkness.
Bonus Power- Shadowcasting Rm (30). Renegade can generate a thick cloud of total darkness from his hands which obscures normal sight at Power rank range (of 8 Areas or 1,256 feet) and effect. He himself does not suffer from any ill effect from the cloud and can move normally within it without any penalties.
Phasing- Ex (20) Power rank. Renegade can mentally will himself to transform into a alternate form resembling a living shadow, all black with no features which allows him to walk through solid objects and barriers of Excellent Strength Material (20) or less. The phasing does not affect or disrupt electronic devices when he passes right through them.
Blending- Ex (20) Power rank. Renegade can also alter his body to match exactly to his surroundings in dark, low light and shadowy areas by maintaining his shadow form while phasing.
This Power functions as a form of specialized invisibility. His body's outline and contours are still detectable if Renegade moves or acts, the observer was very careful or uses special tracking devices or senses.
Limitations- The Blending power can only work in conjunction with his Phasing power in his shadow form so he can't merely use it on his own. Also people would freak out over Renegade not having his shadow around while he is using his Shadowshaping power to make a shadow-construct.
Talents- Martial Arts A, B, C and E; Oriental Weapons and Wrestling.
Contacts- Stick.
History-
Paul Stratton was once a teen-aged hoodlum with a big chip on his shoulder who spent more time on the mean streets of Brooklyn, committing petty crimes such as purse snatching and vandalism rather than stay at home or attend school. Although, he was never caught or arrested by the police for his actions, Paul almost went down the violent path of so many of his hoodlum friends in going to jail or winding up dead in the city morgue. Until one day, at the age of 16, his mutation manifested in broad daylight on a crowded street when he somehow created a black cloud. The action made some of the crowd become fearful and angry and started to chase Paul down the street, intent on killing him for being "one of those stinking muties".
Fortunately Paul was saved just in the nick of time from the mob by the blind martial artist known only as Stick who sensed that there was more to the angry young man than just being a common street punk and so Stick trained him in fighting with the use of his budding mutant abilities, channeling his anger and rebelliousness into something more productive.
Paul quickly took to the strict lessons at heart and soon became quite proficient with his favorite weapon, the Escrima fighting sticks though Stick also trained him in the use of other martial arts weapons in order to avoid being too overly dependent on one tool or fighting style.
Stick had often hinted to Paul during the years of intensive training that there was another reason why he had chosen Paul to be his apprentice though he never got any straight answers from his inscrutable master and didn't press the matter further.
In time, Stick instilled a strong sense of responsibility to Paul who soon reconciled with his estranged parents and even graduated from high school through a G.E.D. shortly before his father had passed away.
Upon completing Stick's training some years later, Paul found a menial job as a janitor in a hi-rise building called One Angel Tower in Manhattan but became lost in finding a new direction in life and so wanting to do more than slave over a paycheck, Paul decided to use his talents to become a crimefighter in his spare time.
Thus Renegade was born.
