SPELLS:
(D – Permanent Effect) Ritual of Rebirth – This is not a spell that Omen can cast, but rather a spell cast upon him on his 18th birthday in his home reality of Earth-203405. Its primary function is to restore Omen’s soul into a new host body, that of an 18 year old incarnation of himself in another timeline reality so that Omen may escape the destruction of that reality by the Crisis on Infinite Earths. It is unknown what will happen when Omen finds himself in a reality that survives the Crisis. The effect of the spell gives Omen Amazing (50) Serial Immortality by shunting his soul into an alternate or parallel reality version of himself which may in time discover his time travel / gateway powers.
(D) The Oblivion Gate - [Excellent Gateway power] The Omen is Lord of a remnant Hell-Realm splintered off from realities erased by the Crisis on Infinite Earths. As such, his "Hell-Realm" passes through the abstract entity Oblivion's domain. As Oblivion is the aspect of Death that represents non-existence, Omen's small Hell-Realm is disconnected from both time and space and is filled with potentially sanity-threatening paradoxes and impossibilities. The current inhabitants of Omen's Hell Realm are beings destroyed or erased by time travel paradoxes or extreme levels of reality manipulation. It is dangerous for even the Omen to remain in Omen's Hell-Realm, as beings that remain there are eventually erased from ever having existed by the forces of Oblivion there. The Omen’s Hell is an overlap realm. Though it exits as a separate place, it is merely a twisted reflection of the physical world. Both hell and hellfire are the literal thoughts of the Marduk consciousness growing within him. When/if he embraces his true identity, the Hell will reestablish itself in its rightful place. Mark is unaware that he is channeling “his” own thought energy. For purposes of spell activation, Hell/Marduk is considered Neutral. Travel through the gateway only appears instantaneous; Although no time passes in either location, those transported are required by the spell to walk the actual distance (Range Column A) through the Omen's Hell…even if they can fly or have other means of movement – superspeed & teleportation included -- they still are limited to a maximum (relative speed) of “1 area per round”. If opening a portal during combat or unwilling passengers -- In this case, “willing target” is any character – not player – who verbally agrees to being teleported. Without spoken consent, assume the character is unwilling --, the passengers (excluding Markus) must make a yellow Psyche FEAT to remember what they were doing before they left or be stunned for 1-10 rounds. On a white result, the passenger is unconscious for 1d10+10 rounds and, upon awaking and remembering the torments of hell, must make a red intensity Psyche FEAT – karma may be spent – or suffer a -2cs to Psyche for 24 hours, with a white result on the second roll leading to 24 hour catatonia. It actually is possible for passengers to move at their normal travel speed through Omen's Hell. Doing so, however, attracts the attention of the Marduk consciousness and results in having to face and defeat the hell lord’s perception –a twisted, hellish doppelganger – of the character. Characters who, in fact , ARE twisted and hellish, face a doppelganger with +1cs to powers and abilities. The above Psyche FEATs are the quick way of resolving this feature, but Judges are encouraged to explore the latter means as time permits. While inside his Hell-Realm within his Oblivion Gates, Omen has Incredible Reality Manipulation - Alter Present powers over all things inside his Hell-Realm.
Using the passages through his Oblivion Gate, the Omen has pre-established the following Gateway terminal points:
1. Hell (His/Marduk’s) – red FEAT
2. The entry hall of Wingate Mansion (Fire Lake, Mass) – green FEAT
3. The front door of the Hellfire Club in Manhattan – green FEAT
4. Jericho Monastary, in Nevada – green FEAT (ref. Hellstorm #17)
5. The front door of the nightclub Bewitched in San Francisco – green FEAT (neutral ground piano bar; ref. Books of Magic prestige formate #2)
6. The Library of Baron Winters in Wintergate Manor (Washington, DC) –green FEAT (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Night_Force)
7. The Nexus of All Realities (Citrusville, Florida) – green FEAT
8. New York City, 1935 – yellow FEAT (the year Doctor Occult debuted)
9. A pub in Oxfordshire, England (1674 AD) – yellow FEAT (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Wilmot,_2nd_Earl_of_Rochester)
10. The royal bedchambers at Csjete Castle, Slovakia (1578 AD) – yellow FEAT (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elizabeth_B%C3%A1thory)
11. The library of Alexandria, 1 month before it burns (391 AD) – yellow FEAT
(D) Hellfire Manipulation: IN 40
Functions as Darkforce manipulation, but does Energy Damage; all kill results are resisted by Psyche rather than Endurance.
EQUIPMENT -
The Dagger of Souls [Shift-Y Material, Incredible Two-Dimensionality] – The Omen’s dagger is forged from Netharanium, a metal found only in Hell which is extremely reactive to psychic forces. It does Shift-Y or Strength +1CS damage (whichever is less) and magically ignores up to Shift-Y material strength physical armor or up to Shift X force fields provided neither of these are magical in nature. It does Remarkable damage to demons. While in possession of the dagger. Omen can detect demons with Remarkable ability and is protected from attacks as if he has Incredible Phasing power.

HISTORY:
Transdimensional History:
In an alternate timeline reality to the MSHG uinverse, Magneto rose to power over the Earth in 1979. Mutants ruled over the powerless normal humans, governed by the House of M. The Daimon Hellstrom [Hellstorm, the "Son of Satan"] of this reality impregnated Catherine DeShayes in exchange for the secret to destroy his "father" the demon Marduk Kurios. Hellstrom knew the male child would grow up to be the reincarnation of Marduk Kurios, and return his world to darkness. The child, Markus, was born to Catherine DeShayes on the Earth-203405 reality's December 21, 2012.
Simultaneous with the end of the Mayan solar calendar, a new age of chaos began, a prophecy of Dark Design was fulfilled. On that same day, as Wolverine, the Punisher, and Ghost Rider fought to save the small town of Christ's Crown, New York from the evil "son" of Mephisto called Blackheart, Blackheart used the blood of an innocent mutant to coat a dagger with which he stabbed his "father" Mephisto, seemingly destroying him, and took over his Hell-Realm for a time. The "children" of the Lords of the Splinter Realms were in ascendence. The princess heir to Magneto's House of M, the Scarlet Witch, also miraculously gave birth to twins.
The Great Darkness era of this possible future reality was coming.
Markus grew up in this possible future reality. In the year 2026, the spoiled, privileged brat, 13 year old Markus DeShayes was sent from Normandy, France by his mother, Catherine DeShayes, to live with “relatives” to America to learn what the “real world” beyond privilege was like. He lived with his uncle Anton and his companion, Jaine, and received the finest schooling the east coast had to offer. Though appearing frail and sickly, Markus was always popular. Unusually so. His classmates and teachers always said he had a way with words and despite the severity of the troubles he often found his way into, he always managed to charm his way out of it. Even when the school mysteriously caught fire during the sophomore dance after comments were made about the appropriateness of he and his guardian Jaine’s behavior behind the bleachers.
On his 18th birthday, Mark learned the truth of his origins from Anton and Jaine. He is the son of the ruler of Hell, Daimon Hellstrom. Anton and Jaine, once allies of Hellstrom, fled from him when he was overwhelmed by his Dark Soul and turned fully to evil. Learning of Markus’ existence, Anton contacted his mother and convinced her to send the child into hiding, rightly fearing that Hellstorm would be coming to groom him just as Satan groomed Daimon and Satana.
Markus agreed to subject himself to a “Ritual of Rebirth” to fully activate his dark heritage. His own Dark Soul was awakened and when accessing that entity’s knowledge for the first time, Markus was lead to both the Netheranium Dagger and the decayed remnants of an ancient tome from which he learned how to control Hellfire and a means to purge his father’s soul on the grounds of Hellstorm’s home in Fire Lake, Mass.
Markus' future reality continued to diverge from the history of the MSHG universe proper as his 21st birthday approached. Magneto's royal "grandchildren," born on the same day as Markus, were coming of age. It was discovered that those "grandchildren" were actually two shards of Mephisto's shattered soul, emplaced in secret for the day they would rule the Earth. But only for an instant. In that moment, Markus' reality would meet the inevitable destruction that befalls all realities eventually. The sin of Krona is unforgivable.
The long prophesied day of destruction was coming. The countless children of the Lords of the Splinter Realms would step forth as a gestalt "Satan" of near-omnipotent reality manipulators and merge Earth with a unified Hell.
The skies of Markus' House of M-ruled Earth rained with blood as a white multiversal ribbon of anti-matter sliced through Markus' home universe, wiping every thing out of existence just as it had destroyed an infinite number of Earths across the multiverse. The Crisis which began in another universe was expanding, destroying all universes in its wake, leaving nothing but darkness and oblivion in their place. Those who could leap to other alternate realities did so to flee the coming destruction to buy themselves time, or to futilely try to fight it. But the inevitable Crisis on Infinite Earths comes for all realities, as all who presume to usurp the throne of the Source, the One Above All, sparks the eternal anti-matter backlash that has been consuming realities since Krona first peered into the secrets of the creation of the Universe and shattered the One into an Infinite. Across the resulting realities and at different points in their timelines, each time an inkling of onmipotence was abused, a new reality was created, rebelling against and replacing the old. Lucifer Morningstar's rebellion against the Source eternally played out across the multiverse in its myriads of inevitable paths. Dr. Doom captured the Beyonder's power. Thanos took up the Infinity Gauntlet. Reed Richards activated the Ultimate Nullifier to destroy Abraxas. Gambit averted the Age of Apocalypse with the M'Kraan Crystal. Realities disappeared from existence. New realities emerged.
Markus knew his father Hellstorm would come for him at the day approached in his reality. Prepared to resist and armed to if necessary kill his father, Markus opened a portal on the outskirts of Hell through time and space to the one point in time where Hellstrom was vulnerable. Then something went horribly wrong. There was a vast shadow of pure evil on the outskirts of Hell which struck out at the passage bored through time. Markus landed in a history strangely different from the one he had ventured off to and when he tried to return to his proper home he found that it no longer existed. As if it never did. Every timeline Markus tried to escape to met with its inevitable end as the Anti-Matter Crisis Wave passed through it. Each reality he fell into incarnated him as an 18 year old with vague memories of his alternate past and future incarnations. Unknown to Markus was that his forgotten experiences in billions of lifetimes in eradicated realities was all the workings of the the Ritual of Rebirth he had partaken in, seeking a reality in which he could paradoxically exist before he was concieved, with some knowledge of the coming Darkness.
MSHG Universe History:
On Markus' 18th birthday, something in him stirred, and memories of his original timeline surfaced. History around him was familiar, yet different. And he could see the future. It was if the events of tommorow were dredged up from his past and superimposed on the present. Events that he vaguely remembered as happening in his home reality's past were starting to happen now, though slightly different. It was if the events of the 1980s were displaced and happening in the 2000s instead, and Markus could see the future coming. This world would surely end on May 10, 2010, shortly after reaching his 21st birthday in this reality. That had to be the date the Crisis wave would strike this reality. The Ritual of Rebirth had found him a reality with the time to perhaps change the inevitable outcome. Already the occult community was moving in preparation for this apocalyptic event. But they were wrong. They anticipated this world would meet its fate on Markus' 25th birthday - December 21, 2012.
Over the next two years, Markus tracked down Anton, now working as an author on the satanic and occult and eventually found Jaine living as a runaway on the streets of New York. Though the details of this past vary in ways both subtle and vast, Markus believes that eventually Hellstrom’s Dark Soul will corrupt him again. With assistance from Anton and the beginnings of his Church of Lucifer network, Markus managed to transfer legal ownership of the Wingate family fortune and home to himself. While he waits for Anton to find the best moment to strike at his father, he acts as Jaine’s protector and acclimates himself to this new world, building a base of power in preparation for his final conflict with the Son of Satan.
It is now October, 2009. Just shy of two months before Markus' 21st birthday. The barriers between this world and the Splinter Realms are collapsing. Hell will be unleashed upon the Earth. And two months later, Markus will rise to rule it. And then four months later the universe will cease to exist. The end would arrive over two years before most occultists on this world had foreseen.
It has all happened before, and it will happen again. Unless, of course, Markus finds a way to break the cycle.
PERSONALITY:
At the age of 20, Mark has become less elitist but still maintains an arrogance bordering on megalomania. He is thoroughly convinced that he is destined to be the leader of the free world and has begun entertaining a notion of political aspiration. He is a practicing Luciferian Satanist (in the “conventional” sense).
The Devine and Cutter of his home reality told Markus a somewhat twisted version of Hellstrom’s history as his own, with Hellstrom filling the role that Satan once played. Markus is aware of who his mother is but neither what she is or that she is still alive. He also believes that Marduk Kurios is a separate entity, similar to the “dark soul” his father possessed and refers to it as such.
