"Looks like we are moving up the food chain a bit. We are going from gangs to gangsters. Can't say I was hoping that this is how this week was going to turn out."
Shockwave secretly records as much of Vigil's explainations as possible, trying to build a computer voice print for later use.

"Okay one second! You gotta machine that gives somebodies feelings, emotions? And you say New York was now this hot bed of violence and aggregion? What about Tel Aviv? Budapest in 1956? Berlin in 1945? South Africa in Segregation? This what you are telling us sounds like more like the plot of Ghostbusters 2! New York! Give me a fucking break! I dont believe this will be the center of a cataclysm unless I get better reasons! And yeah I would sacrifice myself to save mankind! But how can I trust you? There is no reason! You might be a motherfucking soy of Hydra like the last Virgil!"
Solo yanks out his Taurus Raging Bull and points it at Virgil lightningfast,"How the hell do we know that you are not Barthelomew Jacobs himself? How dont we know we are not part of a big Shield experiment? Start talking or Ill blow your head off, you old FUCK!", Solo had enough of all this arcane mumbo jumbo. He had enough of playing the nice guy. If there was evil it had to die! It HAD TO DIE!!!

Vigil seems distraught and frightened by Solo's gun.
"I... I... My name is Dr. Nigel Penner, code named 'Vigil.' I'm a medical doctor. I was born in 1883, in Vancouver, British Colombia, Canada. At the age of 27, I was caught in a dynamite explosion and lost my eyes. The glowing stone you see in my eyesocket healed me and gives me sight. I see life energy. The orb also keeps me from aging and gives me the power to heal. And I abhor violence."
Vigil tries to calm Solo. "I am NOT Bartholomew Jacobs. I'm trying to stop that madman from ressurecting himself. And although the Paladin Institute has in the past quietly cooperated with SHIELD paranormal departments like the Wierd Happenings Organization, by that I mean pointed them in the right direction, we are not a part of SHIELD at all."
Vigil looks over at Flashdance, hoping he does not attack Solo for threatening him. Then back at Solo. "The ANGEL array does not create feelings or emotions or read thoughts. It merely measures the psychic, paranormal energies that feelings and emotions create. ANGEL is an acronym - Anomalous Geometric Event Locator. It measures changes caused by extradimensional activity. Yes, humans are perfectly capable of stirring up their own evil and violence and atrocities. The ANGEL array merely sifts the readings of these highly charged emotional states for paranormal influences. We're not here to stop all the evil in the world. Just the paranormal threats. HYDRA is using a technology that inadvertently allows those threats to come to Earth, and they could not have picked a more dangerous time to do so. They probably don't even know the damage to dimensional barriers they are causing with their Hypnoporter."
"Please, stop pointing that gun at me. We are too close to Bartholomew Jacobs' artifact for... violence."

Vendetta calmly steps in front of Solo's gun. "This isn't the time or the place Solo. Put that thing away before you get somebody hurt." His voice is calm and collected, his eyes are fixed on Solo's, even with the gun pointed directly at him, he shows no sign of being afraid. He leaves the part unsaid that Solo might be the one who could get hurt.

"Yes I can re......." Ferine unable to finish her sentance before all hell breaks loose, looks at Solo holding a gun. She wonders to herself why these people are so gun crazy?

Solo stares at Vendetta in a stern manner, which seems to take forever, he holsters his gun, and sits down on a chair in the back, not saying a word.
This is the reason he work alone.

ooc: looking for the team leaders [Oldschool / Shockwave] to step in with a game plan for going to the Roaring Twenties club...
====
Vigil puts his hand on Vendetta's shoulder, and Vendetta feels a comforting, refreshing feeling. "Please, let's remain calm. Violence and bloodletting near the artifact can have evil, disasterous results."
ooc: Vigil is putting healing energy into Vendetta, sort of a safeguard measure if Solo does pull the trigger.

Elixir notes the explosion and threat of violence with much less concern than in the past.
Solo knows what he's doing, it's how he's been able to live with what he's had to do and keep doing it.
Instead Elixir surveys the room looking for anything related to the hypnoporter.

As Solo seats himself, Vigil nods in thanks to Vendetta and finds a seat himself. Vigil takes a few moments to calm and compose himself with long, deep breaths. He's had a gun pointed at him twice today.
Vigil turns to Ferine and says, "The artifact is known to be very sensitive to violence around it. Violence and chaos and death empower it. Were you starting to say that you could read the artifact?"

Ferine nods at Vigil and continues with what she was saying "Yes I can read it. It seems to employ several evil cursing and hexing spells, from various ancient cultures all woven together to compliment each other, to use demonolgy and necromancy as a weapon of mass destructioin to empower Bartholomew Jacobs. I belive it will work, and he will be extremely dangerous, also the artifact seems to contain an evil presence whenever the 7th amulet is placed the gate will open for a moment, no doubt releasing the demons it's holding back. Even the best case scenario will release something called a Fomorexian death wraith, think ghostbusters 1 but on a much bigger and deadlier scale." With that Ferine waits for the news to sink in.

"Alright, enough of this fun. I don't think anyone likes the current situation, and we all have reservations about how and who we are working with here. I think we can all agree we have some major work to do. If this club is all mobbed up, I expect guards, and lots of them. We need to figure out how we are going in. I would like to set up observation from a nearby rooftop. We can get a lay of the land. When we send anyone inside, we have two options. First, we can try to blend in. These costumes obviously won't do it. I'll take suggestions on who might be best for this kind of job. The other option is going in heavy. If that's our plan, we better know exactly what we are going in after, since it won't do any good to bust up a club and not get our objectives."

Oldschool sighed. It was alot to take in. While one could hardly argue magic when Thor flew over the city weekly, it had always been a discussion that set his nerves grating.
Physics followed laws. When things didn't seem to conform to conventional forms, new laws were discovered or updated after applying the scientific method. Magic didn't only not conform, it seemed to fly in the face of scientific fact. Seemingly unpredictable. Chaotic.
Mike Sherman the engineer didn't like that. Not at all. The quest for science and mathematics never stopped. He understood that, but magic forced him to consider that perhaps it did fit in universal law... that they just didn't have the capacity to categorize or quantify it by conventional means.
It was a bitter pill for him to swallow. The world had learned so much, so quickly... magic seemed unfair, like it cheated. Magic didn't seem dependent on logic or intellect...
Maybe it was just pride or jealousy even that set him at odds with the concept of magic and the supernatural. In the end, it didn't matter...
Like it or don't, understand it or not... they were all up to their eyebrows in it and if they didn't learn to swim soon, they'd all drown.
"Shockwave's right," he grunted, "we need more information. Rushing in like fools is a quick way to get someone killed. We need to observe the joint before we do anything else. Maybe Solo and/or Vendetta with their covert experience could lead the operation backed up by somebody who can observe them better than they'll be able to observe us... Shockwave and/or Ferine. Flashdance can act as back-up."
Oldschool turns to Elixir. "I wouldn't mind knowing more about this Kick. You mentioned something earlier about possibly making an antidote. Maybe with Paladin's help we could actually have something in hand to counter any more encounters with gangs on metapower steroids. Not everyone we encounter will be willing recipients of the drug, it'd set well knowing we might actually help some people along the way to finding these... artifacts."
"It's up to you guys. Whatever we decide. Whomever our plans involve... there's work to be done for everyone. The odds might not be in our favor, but logic says that the better prepared we are... the more favorable odds.."
Take that, magic

Vendetta nodded as Oldschool spoke. "I agree with Oldschool, we need more information. I'd like to see the blueprints for the club - we will need strategies for both insertion and extraction, as well as intimate knowledge of the layout of the building. I'd say Solo would be the best choice for the scouting mission, along with Shockwave. Solo can get them there unnoticed, and Shockwaves scanners can get us much needed data. Ferine should probably study that slab of granite closer, so we know more about what we are dealing with here once we have all the lockets. But ... its not my desition ofcourse - its up to Shockwave and Oldschool to deside on the best course of action."
