After Solo smashes the news camera, Action 36 News reporter Brent Winslow exclaims "Hey you big jerk! We've got the freedom of the press here! We have the right to... holy shit that's a big gun..." Arc covers herself in a sheath of electricity, to shield herself. She says "What the hell is the matter with you people?" Then to Solo. "I'm going to give you to the count of ten to stop pointing that gun in my face. Eight." ooc: I'm going to need a Psyche FEAT from Solo. One of Arc's powers is capable of affecting Solo in a rather insidious way.... On that note, let's have some sweet action declaring / initiative rolling.... Arc prepares to use her finite control over electricity to override the implanted teleportation control circuitry in Solo's brain and trigger the teleportation sequence... destination determined by FEAT result if Solo's not successfully resistant of it. She'll trigger it if a) she can and b) she has to.

Vendetta draws both his pistols pointing them straight at Arc's heart "Sorry Arc - I tried talking to you but you know how far that got me. Seems you forced my hand."

"You idiots! I was talking him down and what did you do, attack him AGAIN! I'm taking Windchill somewhere safe and none of you will try to stop me or I will wreck you!"
"Arc you pretentious B!TCH! Don't you dare threaten anyone here, raise your temperature any further and it will reach the autoignite temperature of nitrogen, which I've already lowered. Want to be at ground zero of your own explosion?"
With that Elixir lifts Windchill over his shoulder and turns titanium.
OOC: Elixir is bluffing, but he's angry enough that he'll do exactly that if pushed.

Oldschool couldn't believe how fast this was turning to hell. Somedays he wished that he hadn't been born with a brain that half functioned; it would be so much easier just to smash things and not worry about repercussions.
There was something about Arc that set off alarms in his head but he couldn't quite place a finger on it. She knew things that she wasn't sharing... information that he knew damn well was important enough to know. She was juggling things larger than any of them could fathom. Oldschool was intuitive enough to sense that she wasn't evil, there was a reason that she chose not to divulge everything she knew. Maybe it was her position and training. Maybe she wasn't allowed to divulge anything.
In the end, it didn't matter, the lack of forthcoming did nothing but make the team distrust both her and this Paladin Agency.
Oldschool could understand her callousness with Windchill. There had been Paladin Agents hurt and probably killed with the youngsters escape. Probably her friends. He imagined that her first emotion was to punish Windchill herself. Only great strength of character would allow her to 'let go' and give Windchill up to the law.
Still, if this was true, how could she not see that the team had a vested interest in Windchill's future. He was one of them. If any of them went rogue crazy, they'd want to be taken down by their friends.
Oldschool knew he would.
Looking at Elixir, Oldschool could even understand his anger at the rest of the team. Even he had been wrapped up by Elixir's words and truly believed that he had been getting through to Windchill.
Violence was never the only answer. He couldn't count how many times he had fantasized about choking the life out of Stark and kicking the stuffing out of his Hollywood effect bodyguard, Ironman. Events that would surely do nothing but land him in jail for life.
Solo and Vendetta were attack dogs. Loyal to some, but in the end knew only the law of the fittest. Kill or be killed. Hurt before you can be hurt. Threaten violence to deter violence.
Oldschool didn't agree with their methods but he could hardly argue their results.
Right now they were sticking up for their team mate and Oldschool admired their loyalty. The problem was that no one was willing to explore why others had different views. Elixir, Arc, Solo and Vendetta all had different views... all were justified in their own heads, but everyone was so wrapped up they refused to see that everyone of them were not only a little wrong... they were all a little right.
"Elixir, wait!" he bellered as he moved towards his titanium covered team mate. "How is he?"
As he walked he turned to his old friend and business partner. "Let her go Vendetta, she gets the picture. We will NOT abandon our team mate, no matter how many friends she lost when Winchell broke out of the infirmary. This isn't the right place to have this discussion. Too many eyes are watching. We all had tough choices to make and conflicting emotions aren't going to make this siutation any better."

As quickly as he had drawn his guns they were back in their holsters. Vendetta nodded at Solo as he spoke "I think Oldschool is right - she gets it - and I think she also sees that the stick is not the way to get us to do the best we can.... Isnt that right Arc." He gives Arc a level look.

Ferine takes a seat on top of one of the wrecked cars, looking at the chaotic scene taking place in front of her, keeping an eye on the news crew making sure they are not in any danger.

Solo looks at Oldschool and Vendetta,"We have been betrayed once by a fake Paladin Institute, how the hell do we know they are real or trustworthty? I have been betrayed by my team before. This is the reason I work alone! This is why i am called SOLO!!!"
Solo really wanted to just blast this bitches head of. But he then thought about windchill and flashdance. This time violence wasnt the awnser, he hesitated, but then holstered his gun.
"I hope you guys know what youre doing, If the shit hits the fan with paladin dont blame me, that I didnt warn you."
Solo turn to elexir,"Look man we needed to stop him. I can offer you to bring him to a safe place."

ooc: I'm going to need Xandar's Worldmind to calculate RP Karma later. Thanks, guys ===== Solo feels a familiar tingle in his head... the initiation of his teleportation circuitry sequence, yet he didn't start it. But as soon as it starts he mentally tamps it down. One thing is for sure, it was a failed attempt to remotely control his teleportation, obviously from Arc. Arc is angry, but feels a bit embarassed by the spectacle this has become. Elixir's words about setting off a hydrogen explosion unnerve her more than having 3 guns in her face. She sighs and mutters, "Great, just what the Institute needs. More insubordinates. Apparently one Masters of Menace team wasn't enough. Damn you, Pride!" She throws up her hands, bitchy and pissed. "Fine. Have it your way. Why don't you all just line up in front of that cameraman and reporter the internationally wanted terrorist just punked out, and individually explain to them why you're taking away the mutant that downed their helicopter on live TV. And while you're at it, why don't you tell them that when you're not throwing flash grenades at cops and smashing nightclubs and trashing high level Maggia meetings and threatening to nuke lower Manhattan, you're all swell guys to hang out with. Geezus." "I'm taking Flashdance back to base. You're coming with, or you can all be team mates in front of SHIELD interrogators. Your call, but I'm trying to save this city." With that, Arc turns and storms into the homeless shelter, and can be heard chewing out the Paladin agents attending to Flashdance. Because crap rolls downhill.

"Get Windchill out of here. Obviously, he can't be taken back to the tower. An alternate location will need to be set up to detox him. I'll speak to the press."
Shockwave takes a deep breath hoping he can take care of the reporter before SHIELD is on site.

Solo sounds exactly how Elixir feels.
Elixir ignore Ferine's question about these people being his friends, and prepares to start walking when he hears Oldschool's question.
Turning to Oldschool he tersely responds, "He's really bad off. How do you think he's doing after all the crap that's happened to him recently?"
"Okay Solo, I'll trust you this one time, but both he and I go. Don't prove me wrong."

ooc: I haven't seen this much team bickering since John Byrne was writing Alpha Flight Seriously I'm loving this. The game is practically writing itself! Y'all are top-nawtch! ===== As the heroes argue, Skycam Action 36 News reporter Brent Winslow bleats into a cellphone, "We're a bit banged up but yes, we're alright. Thank you Clara. We were flying over the Lower East Side, filming the cleanup of this morning's mutie terrorist attack for the 5 o'clock report when we ran into a severe ice storm caused by another mutie. We knew this was going to happen when the Senate passed the MRA and sent it to the House for reconciliation. Now it'll pass for sure. Anyway, the chopper froze right up and we crashed. We got some government capes down here that subdued the ice mutie, but they smashed Phil's camera and seem to be arguing with those no-namers from the Met burglary story. I had to borrow the pilot's Blackberry. Can you put us on live audio? Good. Give me a three-count. Use the new stock image. I hate my hair in the old one." "BRENT WINSLOW REPORTING LIVE FROM THE LOWER EAST SIDE!" the reporter dramatizes, "In what appears to be a follow up to this morning's mutant terrorist attack that knocked several thousand people unconscious in the middle of their daily routines and causing hundreds of car crashes, subway wrecks, fires, and serious injuries, this reporter and his cameraman and pilot were brutally assaulted by another mutant terrorist who forced down our helicopter with some sort of glazing ice attack! With me now is the superhero that freed us from the helicopter wreckage then toppled the crazy ice mutant. Ma'am, ma'am, Brent Winslow, SkyCam Action 36 News. We're broadcasting live via cellphone. Ma'am. Can you tell us your name?" Winslow shoves the Blackberry near Ferine's face like it was a microphone, then nods a pipsqueak defiant glance at Solo. "Ma'am, can you tell us how long the government has been secretly hunting down victims of the genetic mutation disease? Where did your fur go? Do you have any leads on who caused the massive mutant terrorist attack this morning? Who are your teammates?" The news chopper pilot and the cameraman Phil stand behind the sensationalizing "journalist," interposing themselves between the heroes and the reporter's interview with Ferine

Solo looks at the reporter, really wanting to punch the guy in the face instead ignoring him, giving him only a suttle but menacing look then looking at Elexir,"Sure yeah I can teleport us three. We can keep him there until we find a more suitible place for our friend"
As soon as Elexir is ready Solo will teleport them to his base in Brazil.

"I'm ready to go."
Listening to the alleged journalist go on about mutant attacks just makes Elixir's blood pressure rise even higher.
"Sooner rather than later."

Vendetta walks up close to Shockwave and says in a low voice "can you create some sort of audio feedback in that blackberry hes holding? Cut off the feed?"
