History:
John Patrick grew up in the Bronx in the neighbourhood of Castle Hill. He was the son of a simple factory worker, and after he finished High-school, he joined the Marines.
While he was in the marines, he had extensive training in guns, and martial arts, including Krav Maga. He served several tours before he began the college education he had been promised when he originally signed up with the Marines.
In college he majored in Automotive Engineering, as well as Battlesuit Design, and Small Business Economics. During his time in college, he began doing parkour to stay in shape, and continued his training in Krav Maga, and even began giving courses to women on campus. He also volounteered as safety officer at night, making sure girls could get home safely.
Once he had graduated, he went back to his old neighbourhood, and moved into a flat. With the money he had saved from his tours in the Marines, he started a small business, specializing in small combat vehicles, and personal armour. His business did allright, and he even got a few government contracts.
John kept in contact with his old classmates from college over the years, and met with them several times a year, and he had even gotten into a relationship with one of his female classmates.
Unfortunately his old neighbourhood was in a decline, and gangs were getting more and more bold, while the police seemed more and more unable to handle the situation, however John refused to abandon his neighbourhood. One fateful night, when his girlfriend was leaving, she got caught in the crossfire between two rival gangs.
That night John decided that something had to be done. If the police could not stop the gangs then he would. Within just a few days he had gotten his gear together, using a prototype of personal body armour he had been working on, as well as a couple of pistols and two nightsticks he acquired from his friend in the Marines.
That night Vendetta was born, and his first clash was with a group of gang-members who were trying to rob a liquor-store. It ended with 3 of the 4 gangers badly hurt, and left outside the store for the police to pick up, and the last ganger dead.
Role Playing Notes:
John/Vendetta has no qualms about killing if he feels it is necessary to keep either innocents, or himself alive.
