Spellbound has sat quietly, patiently, waiting in vain for cooler heads to prevail.
"If we are done hosing the room down with testosterones I got a few points that I would like to make..."
With that she stands up, taking a moment to drape her cloak over the back of her chair and unwrapping the scarf from around her face. She slowly begins to walk around the table, casually dragging her hand along the backs of the chairs, putting just touch more swing in the sway of her hips.
[OCC: Mr. Pride is not the only one with mind control] ;D

))((OOC Amazingly this first meeting went better then I expected, oh well so much for drama time))((
Solo took his mp3 player turned it off, taking his weapons, putting them away in his suit and then sitting down on a chair. He didn't show any emotions and didnt say a word. Then after listening to the others, and ignoring flashdance, he said in emotionless proffesional voice,"This mentionend Psychoactive gas, works It made be believe to relive the plane incident. I felt the pain of the bullet, and made suit even changed in reality. If this alien threat can do that we musst stop them. I don't expect anyone of you to understand me, or like me, I just expect to try to stop this threat together, thats all I have to say for now." That's why his name was Solo, he worked alone, since the incident, and liked it that way. But he felt he had to this, for now.

Gentlemen, I will try to use small words so that this easy for you to take in. In light of you have witnessed or experienced lately, I would like to think you have a broader view of the paranormal. With that in mind I would like to remind you why I sought some of you out, and are willing to work with you. My mother is a divinatory of some considerable skill, and if she saw us working together to deal with this grimore of Bartholomew Jacobs, then you can believe the only way we can recover this cursed tome is by working together. While I can not condone what Solo did, I understand his methods. Since I was in high school I have been dealing with all kinds of evil, mundane and otherwise, and while I have never taken another human’s life…I have been in a kill or be kill situation and as you can see I am still standing. And what about the involvement of the terrorist groups AIM and Hydra? And who is causing unrest in the city's underworld, they got everybody from the Maggia families to wanna be gang bangers trying to kill one another. While that is not such a bad thing, there is the issue of collateral damage. Then there are the rumors of infighting within various government agencies, do any of you have the balls to tell me that that all of this happening relatively simultaneously is mere coincidence?

As for this Formorexian system of magic Mr. Pride. If I understand you correctly, and having spent my entire life amongst a cabal of magi, as well as having spent half of my short, yet considerable life, studying quantum physics, couple with my ability to instinctually manipulate magical energies, which all in all gives me a fairly unique perspective on the very nature of magic, I am sure that I have understood you correctly, but just the same I would like to make sure. It is almost like an old clockwork machine, each coincidences is like a gear that needs to mesh together, the more “gears” the more powerful the spell. Given Solo’s action in attacking the warehouse as well as his possession of a replica of Bartholomew Jacobs' Key, then it is reasonable conclusion that he has become a gear in some Formorexian spell, to what end I cannot say at this time. Now, if we play our cards right, and if Solo is willing, this can prove to be an advantage.

Mr. Pride says "Gears? That is a very keen analogy, Spellbound. Each intriguing event in the chain of coincidences would be crucial to the completion of the Fomorexian spell. Now, if your mother has seen a divination of Solo being a part of finding the book, this means, at the least, that Solo will be present when the book turns up. That he seems to have pulled a replica of Bartholomew Jacobs' Key into reality out of a hallucination confirms that he is definitely a part of the external plan here. Solo, this vision of being back on the plane in Milan you experienced? Did you see anything else? What guided you to the warehouse in the first place?"
"And look here," Pride says as he stands and waves his hand over the pendant hanging around Solo's neck. "It glows in the presence of magical energies, but..." Mr Pride uncomfortably removes the pendant from around Solo's neck and sets it on the table. "It only glows in the presence of magic when Solo is wearing it."
The pendant begins to flake and tiny ashes fall from it before Mr. Pride puts it back around Solo's neck, which seems to restore it. "Mr. Bourne appears to be a 'locked variable' in this."

Meanwhile...
"A mutant? You brought a mutant on our turf?"
"Yes we did. Here look. This is a mutant detector. Just point it at him, and it'll beep. If you accept our proposal, we can get each of you a mutant detector. Everyone in our alliance will have them."
Paul watches the Buzzcuts gather around the Gutter Pirates and Batboys thugs as they scan the Flashing Blades thug with some sort of handheld device.
"I know this one, its one of Razor's juvies. Tommy, right?"
"Tommy Bifrost, you skinhead bitch!"
"Well well well, Tommy Mutie. Why don't you show us what your powers are?"
Stick appears to be concentrating intently on a woman with the Gutter Pirates and Batboys in a sheer, near transparent bodysuit with eerie, gothic white hair and a Nepalese appearance as he approaches her.
Paul hears his master's voice in his head "Leave your blindfold on, I..."
A Buzzcut exclaims to Paul "Hey! You took off your blindfold before sinking the 8-ball! That spoils the bet! Pay up!"
"You!" the woman shouts, as she swings a roundhouse kick at Stick, who deflects it easily with his staff, "what are you doing here?"
Stick says softly "What are YOU doing here? You are a long way from Los Angeles, and the Himalayas.... "
The air in the bar crackles as balls of lightning begin to form in the four corners of the room....
"Hey! Pool shark boy is a mutant too! It's an ambush!"
ooc: map coming.... declare actions and roll initiative.
In the bar currently there are:
10 Buzzcuts 5 Gutter Pirates 5 Batboys Dansen Macabre 4 others arriving though balls of lightning
and
Stick the captured mutant Tommy Bifrost Paul / Renegade

"I'll let the you keep to your fights or your mumbo jumbo discussions if that is your plan. I want to go find out what this gang is up to. I'm setting up a listening post nearby if possible to do surveillance. Maybe I can hear something that will help get someone in the building with a better cover ID."

Mr. Pride says to Shockwave, "Regardless of whether or not you believe in magic, we do need to do some investigation of the Buzzcuts before rushing in. Find out if they are keeping Felicia and what ties they might have to our only seemingly interlocking lead here.... the Nefaria crime family, and these AIM / HYDRA robots and strange chemicals, and the HYDRA agent Flashdance saw when he was teleported with the werewolf to the same place you were teleported with that Kali priestess. We are seeking out more leads on these apparent members of the Night Shift with an investigation team on the West Coast."
"I suggest both a listening post and people on the inside. Running in there in costume maybe out of the question, but maybe Solo is best suited for the infiltration aspects of the mission."
"Do you require communications equipment to link the team together?"

Responding to Maximillian and Spellbound,
"Surveillance equipment and communication equipment would be much appreciated. As would some type of transportation."
"I'm not much of a candidate for blending with a skin-head anti-mutant gang. Solo might be a good candidate for that like you suggest."
"As to magic, at sufficiently high levels the two are supposedly indistinguishable. I don't know enough to make an informed decision either way, so I'll just keep an open mind."
Addressing Solo,
"I know you like your guns Solo, but do you have anything less lethal, like tranquilizers that could be used...unless I guess the situation demands it?"
Seems like Shockwave is getting itchy, hopefully we can wrap this up and get him moving before this "team" falls apart.

Paul sneered when the punk said he spoiled the pool bet and put aside his cue stick. Leave it to his sensei to tell him things after it was said and done.
Next time, tell me the full plan instead of making up stuff along the way!
"The bet was off the second they brought in the mutant for you to "play around" with, buddy." he said in a forced bored tone, trying to pretend he didn't give a crap about the kid. "No one really won or lost anything. We can restart the pool game afterward the mutant scum is properly dealt with by pure breeds."
The lies shamed Paul but he knew that the odds were overwhelming. Sensei can take care of himself and Renegade can hold his own but the mutant kid named Tommy Bifrost might not be so lucky.
Stick apparently knew the woman with the black streaks on her white hair. Of course, they started their reunion with the inevitable sparring. However, since Stick can handle her, Paul wasn't all that concerned. What did concern him was the new device the Buzzcuts held in their grubby little hands. A mutant detector!
Paul's heart sank as the thug who stood next to him and had declared the pool bet forfeited shouted that Paul was a mutant too!
Enough of this crap.
"You lying sleaze! You are just saying that cuz you plan to take the gang's money all for yourself rather than continue with the game!" Paul snarled as he quickly made his move.
Paul then swung his left arm and landed his elbow onto the Buzzcut's neck. It was not Paul's intention to kill, only to stun the punk long enough for him to the men's room near the bar to change into his costume. The rest of the Buzzcuts were too distracted with Tommy, the mutant detector as well as Stick's antics with the creepy lady to pay much attention to a scuffle between Paul and a sore loser.
As he did so, four balls of lightning appeared out of nowhere.
Great, what the hell now? Its going to be a very long night.

Thinking about it, Flashdance says - "I suppose I could let the hair down and loose the costume if we need the place checked out. Two things I got going on - I know bars, and if things get to harry I can just TP out of there anyway. Besides, I don't get to show off my sweet fluffy mullet very much now that I'm a super hero"

In the confusion, of erupting balls of lightning in the corners of Starky's Pool Hall, Paul elbowed a Buzzcut gang member playing with the mutant detector in the neck, knocking him out cold.
Stick and his opponent, the female Dansen Macabre spar at each other with a flurry of blocked punches and kicks, even as Stick batters and disarms surrounding Gutter Pirates of their firearms and BatBoys of their baseball bats.
The Buzzcuts take up pool cues, stools, bottles, knives, and guns and begin taking shots at everyone not Buzzcut in the room, including the figures emerging from the balls of lightning...
a Werewolf, a Frankenstein's Monster, a man in a black cloak shrouding his features in darkness, and a lithe woman in black leather and fishnet stockings wielding a chain.
ooc: hold here, the rest of the heroes are going to show up one round later....

Mr. Pride offers, "We can give each of you two-way communications equipment. Transportation should not be a problem, as Starky's Pool Hall is not far from here." [ooc: I'm using the Basic city map, with slight alterations. The Angel Towers / Krupp building is reversed, with One and Two Angel Towers being 25 stories tall, and the Krupp building being 10 stories tall, and the whole thing together being called the Angel Towers building... Starky's is in "Olson's Five and Dime" a few blocks away... map later, but the Angel Towers complex will, in time, be the group's headquarters]I need an Intuition roll from Flashdance, and a Reason FEAT from Shockwave... ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)
