Windchill glares at Elixir, with a very agitated look on his face. "Three of my best friends in the world are dead because of whatever connection those monsters have to Hammerhead. I meant taken down permanently, living in fear for the rest of his short life. Picking on homeless people? Is he out of his mind? I can summon wind forces strong enough to obliterate his house with him in it. That's how I intend to knock on his door when I find out where he lives. And then, I'm going to get... sick with him."
Windchill is near puffed up with rage. "He's Maggia. If there was a way to put him away in prison someone would have already."

As Windchill begins to rant, through his hyper-hearing Oldschool hears the crack of a high-powered rifle go off in the distance, definitely near the waterfront. Just then, a man rushes into the homeless shelter, dressed in the colorful coveralls of an ice cream truck vendor with a name tag that reads "Bill." Small ropes hang from around his wrists and ankles, as if he had been hogtied but cut free. His eye is blackened with a bruise and his lip is split. He appears like he's nearly in shock. He babbles "N-need to use the ph-phone. Sp-sp-spiderman beat me up h-he he stole my tr-truck. He has a b-b-bomb." ooc: still need an Endurance FEAT roll from Solo to start this insanity ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

"I'd give less than 50-50 odds that Hammerhead is behind the monsters, so you might want to redirect your anger. So far it looks more likely someone is going after him with the monsters, while at the same time framing him with 'obvious' evidence. This HYDRA angle is making more and more sense based on whatever that place Flashdance and I teleported to was. Maggia isn't exactly known for original tech. The steal or buy what they can get, but it's usually second hand or slightly outdated stuff. Doesn't make that stuff any less dangerous, but this looks to be over their heads." Of course, all it would take is blackmailing or hiring one top end scientist to change all of that, but that hadn't been the Maggia's MO in the past. Much cheaper to get second tier tech, and it's harder to trace it to their organization. At least it had always been harder in the past.

Elixir sets his jaw...
"Windchill, you have no idea what Hammerhead's part in all of this is, and if you decide to go executing people you'll make the wanted list just like this other teleporting crazy with the guns. I know this hurts right now, but this isn't the way to..."
Elixir is interrupted by the battered man's arrival and thinks no way Spiderman beat up someone and stole an icecream truck with a bomb on it.
"Calm down mister, we'll get you a blanket and have someone look you over, where's your truck now?"

Oldschool hears a second shot, from the same high powered rifle, from the same direction, definitely south of the homeless shelter, near the entrances to the Port Authority piers on the other side of this warehouse district where the homeless shelter operates.
Shockwave's helmet computer chimes:
[soundsource: gunfire echo, Polish Army / NATO 7.62 x 51mm sniper rifle]
[Echo location parameter South x Southeast +/- 1.875 miles]

The ice cream man stammers, "He let me go. I r-ran as f-fast as I c-could. K-kidnapped me this morning... t-t-tortured m-me. L-locked me in a fr-fr-freezer. St-till numb. Shoved a popsicle up my..."
The man breaks down sobbing.

"Take it easy, you're safe now, come with me."
Turning to the others, Elixir says, "I'm going to help him out, be back as soon as I can. Jenkins, would you call 911 and get an ambulance over here?"
As he passes Oldschool, Elixir says, "I'll do anything I can to help bring down Hammerhead and keep your folks here safe, short of murder. I didn't want you to think that I was defending him or something."
Leading the man to an empty cot, he lays him down (on his side) and covers him with a blanket, rubbing his limbs to get the circulation going and making sure there isn't any serious tissue damage.
If there's a bomb, we need to get the police involved and searching for that vehicle as soon as possible. Elixir whispers to the driver, "Can you remember your license plate numbers? If there's a bomb, it will help the police find it."

"Did you hear that? Gunfire, and large caliber. With it just being single shots, it sounds like we have a sniper on our hands to the south." Turning to the man, "Where did you say this bomb is? This could be a trap."

The man in the ice cream vendor coveralls stammers, "L-let me g-go n-not far from here. D-d-driving towards p-p-piers. Lots of g-guns. Wired tr-truck up w-w-with b-bombs. B-bad man. Dr-dressed like Sp-spider-m-man. B-beat me up l-locked me in a fr-freezer. T-t-tortured me."
Oldschool hears a low bass thump explosion and automatic gunfire in the distance.
Shockwave's helmet computer chimes:
[soundsource: NATO issue AT4-CS 84mm light antitank grenade explosion, muffled by sheet metal enclosure]
[echo location parameter South x Southeast +/- 1.89 miles]
[soundsource: Uzi 9mm sub-machine fire, muffled by sheet metal enclosure]
[echo location parameter South x Southeast +/- 1.89 miles]
Flashdance's baseball bat starts "ringing."
Jenkins takes the ice cream man to a seat in the dining area and says to Elixir "I'll take care of this poor guy. Oldschool and Shockwave apparently hear something outside."

![](http://i540.photobucket.com/albums/gg340/deadsidekick/spellbound-dcau.jpg) Spellbound ducks outside the homeless shelter, but quickly runs back inside, with a swirl of silvery reflective light spinning around her. "It sounds like a warzone out there. South, towards the waterfront!"

(OCC - sorry for the lack of post over the weekend, been playing catchup after my trip to Saint Louis and getting baby preparations done. Now I'm back at work so I can finally post for the game ;-) )
Flashdance has been sitting back, just listening to all of the conversation. He's still trying to get a grip on a couple things; the situation, and the fact that his parents might be broke.
"I gotta have a long talk with dad after all this"
Listening to what has been said about Hammerhead:
"You know, I could probably teleport a couple of us into his bedroom in the middle of the night and we could kindly and professionally explain to him that he can drive to the shelter, but we can reach him any where, anytime. I bet that's what that Batman dude would do over in Gotham. Either that or teleport into his bedroom when he's not there and douse his underwear with itching powder. Just imagine that would do to his public image if he was scratching the boys in front of his men!"
(The look on Flashdance's face show's he is thinking about the latter little two seriously)
**Just then, the Ice Cream Truck driver comes in, and all of the sudden he stops joking, and Shockwave mentions the Gunfire**
"I didn't hear anything, but I bet you did. It might be a trap, but if it by chance is Psycho boy and he's back, we better get there before he does any more "good" "
All of the sudden, a tinny version of "Sweet Home Alabama" starts playing from Flashdance's bat
(OCC - hope you don't mind a little liberty with the ringtone, if so please feel free to strike that last part)
"What the..?!" oh, wow; that's kind of cool. Hold on guys. I need to get this."
He holds the bat up to his ear and says "Flashdance Thumps and Bruises; how may I help you?"

ooc: Sweet Home Alabama ringtone is hilarious. Next time you're gonna be in the St. Louis area, lemme know, we can meet up and go get in trouble together. ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) As Flashdance answers the phone enbedded in the handle of his new baseball bat, he hears the voice of Arc from the Paladin Institute. "Flashdance, a scan team has detected a matter displacement signature near your location that conforms to known parameters of the teleportation circuitry of that Omega Strike agent we're looking for. Keep your eyes peeled. Arc out."

occ - Definitely will! I'm there about once a month over on the Illinois side (although the next few months will be sporadic; don't think my wife will let me go on any more trips until this baby gets here!)
Flashdance hangs up his bat and says to everyone =
"My, um... my bat said the gunfire came from our favorite vigilante from earlier."

![](http://i540.photobucket.com/albums/gg340/deadsidekick/spellbound-dcau.jpg) Spellbound says to Flashdance with a puzzled look, "Your bat has a phone in it?!" Then she composes herself. "Either gun boy has gone postal or he's shooting at people that are shooting back. Either way, my mother's divination foretold he's a part of finding the evil book. We have to locate him. Should be easy enough to track down the source of the gunfire outside. Let's go before the shooting stops!" Spellbound then runs outside, waiting for the others while cupping her hands to her ears listening for more gunfire.
