Oldschool, Vendetta, and Shockwave head back up to the workshop on level 25. Shockwave begins working with the Dreadnought robot parts. Vendetta and Oldschool begin working on Vendetta's bike.
Flashdance, Solo, and Rin head upstairs to the living quarters area rec room on level 24 to await word from Elixir and Ferine, who are going to the Roaring Twenties club in civilian attire.

Vendetta turns to Oldschool "Want to help me on the bike?" then he heads to the workshop. As Vendetta and Oldschool get to work on the bike, Vendetta casually says "You know Mike, I've been looking for a partner for my company for a while now, but I have to be careful with who I choose becase of my .... extracureccular (sp?) activities. I actually have a contract lying at my office, which I had my law firm, 'Crane, Poole & Schmidt' draw up. All it needs is a name, and a signature to make it final." He never stops working on the bike, and doesnt even look up from his work, he sounds as if he was talking about the weather. "I realize that you don't have much in the way of assets right now, but I'm sure we can work something out with shares of the company as part of your take of the profits, at least untill you own say 49%?." /ooc sorry for railroading you Task I hope you dont mind ooc/

Oldschool, 'pfffed' when asked if he wanted to work on Vendetta's bike and then smiled. As if he even had to ask. Since bankruptcy, there hadn't been many chances to work on anything mechanical, save the Shelter's problematic washing machine and the occasional volunteers vehicle when it didn't start.
There wasn't one moment where he didn't miss losing himself in the work. Mechanics came to him intuitively and had, in the past, been more of a selfish 'escape' than anything else. It was almost as if his hands knew what they were doing, freeing his brain to daydream about potential innovations to current and future projects.
Mike settled in on the other side of the bike, stripping nuts off of bolts with his bare hands, careful not to add damage. As he took parts off he tried to remember each, but before long he grinned as the bike became more and more recognizable.
Like art is recognized, so to was his friends meld of mechanics and weapon design. He had seen these methods made reality so many times... they were more refreshing than an old comfortable coach with a beer in hand at the end of the day.
How many times had they combined their intellects to steal contracts from other engineering firms, he wondered.
Oldschool was brimming with contentment, when his old friend and business partner broached a very serious subject. It stopped his mechanical efforts in their tracks.
When Vendetta was done, he spoke carefully. Emotions threatened like nothing physical could.
"I don't know what to say," he started softly,"I miss this so much. I... miss working on things with you. Talking. Theorizing. Most people wouldn't even know what I'm talking about if I started talking about some of our projects. It's... frustrating... and it's not that they're stupid... it's just that there's not many like us..."
"For so long, I've had nothing but my hate for Stark. The worst part is, is I doubt he even knew who we were or how his indifference screwed us. I wanted to make him pay for so long."
"But lately, with this crew... I feel like I've become more than my hate for Stark. Giving back to the shelter after they kept my body going. When I knew it was you, I began thinking about the past and how my lack of foresight, screwed our company and tore everyone apart..."
"I like who I am... but I hate being so damn broke. I want to work on cooling coils for plasma injectors, not broken down washing machines. When you're broke and destitute, your options disappear and chain you down. All this strength and I'm powerless."
"Selfishly, I'd jump at the chance, but there's issues with me joining... your company. Everyone who cares knows who Oldschool is. What happens when villains start showing up looking for revenge? Having Hammerhead show up at the shelter scared the crap out of me."
"I don't want to screw your life up anymore than I already have but I pray to God you say something that'll convince me otherwise, old friend. Fighting the good fight is awesome, but you know me well enough, I don't sleep much and need more than a days worth of stuff I can pour myself into, everyday..."
Oldschool lifted his eyes to watch Vendetta. There was a vulnerability there, just below the surface... lurking.
Mike Sherman was not the man he once was. He selfishly hoped that he was more.

John smiled beneath his mask "Mike you've seen how I work, both professionally and .... shall we say in my off time. Do I really come over as someone who had'nt thought of that." There was a definate teasing tone to his voice "Besides..." he said "you know I don't scare easily, so if some crimeboss wants to come after you, then let him - I keep a gun close at hand anyways when I'm in my shop - there are always people who wants to 'borrow' my inventions." He looks at Mike across the bike between them. His eyes show he is determined to make this happen one way or another. "Besides ... 'Patrick & Sherman Innovative Designs' has a nice ring to it, and we can always install an early warning system at the office and shop - one we build - not one of those commersial models that anyone with a cellphone can hack"

The power and lights flicker in the Angel Towers building, corresponding with the end of the countdown timer for the ANomalous Geometric Event Locator ping scan, the towers serving as a gigantic tuning fork / dowsing rod for locating and identifying paranormal events.
Vendetta and Oldschool finish reassembling Vendetta's bike after repairing its damaged frame.
From the parts of the three Dreadnought robots, Shockwave assembles one robot, one without any weapon systems and lacking any programming or operating system, which will take more time to install.
Around a half-hour after the ANGEL Towers ping scan, Vigil and Arc summon Shockwave, Vendetta, and Oldschool to meet them on level 24 with Flashdance, Rin, and Solo to reveal their findings.
Apparently, their scan located something extremely off-the-charts evil, precisely inside the Roaring 20s club. A primal, spiritual evil.
A demon incarnate.

After telling Vendetta that he'd 'think' on his business proposal (even though they were both familiar with Oldschool 'thinking' on any proposal by his one time business partner automatically meant 'yes') and after having a laugh about while they finished Vendetta's bike, Oldschool followed his 'new' business partner to the meeting room, where Rin, Solo and Flashdance waited.
When they were told the results, Oldschool's eyes lit up in alarm.
"That's where the team is!" stating the obvious. "What exactly is a demon incarnate and how dangerous is it compared to our team mates, there? I'm probably not the best person to make judgments when it comes to our team's safety, but I'm ready to make the call to go in hot and heavy. Screw Hammerhead. It's obvious he's in cahoots, with this... demon."
Oldschool struggled to compose himself as he waited impatiently for feedback from anyone.

Vendetta nodded. "Just say the word and I'll be there as fast as I can get there.. even if I have to ride my bike down the elevator and through the reception" He double checked his pistols and topped off the mags.

Rin chimes in, arising from his corner he's been sitting if for the entire time, doing nothing. He speaks again, nervously and slowly.
"It might be good to....do this quietly, and subdue him. I can do it...."
Rin looks at the ground, his hands behind his back.

Vendetta nods as Rin speaks up. " Vigil said you could get in and out unnoticed - exactly what is it you can do ... I'm not trying to pry, I'm just trying to establish the team's strenghts and weaknesses." He speaks in a freindly tone, and tries not te be intimidating.

Vigil hastily explains, "A demon incarnate is something of a relative term. It usually means that a malevolent extradimensional or spiritual entity has taken a physical form on Earth rather than entering a vessel - taking possession of someone's body. Even with the barriers weakening at this time of year, such a manifestation is no mere feat except for the more powerful of demons. Such a creature could shapeshift, ignore physicality and walk through walls at will. To put it bluntly, we can't stop them. We can only try to figure out why they are here. They generally do not draw attention to themselves. This demon is either unaware of our detection array or is too powerful to care. I'll try to see if I can look in on Elixir and Ferine."
Vigil turns and faces northeast, towards the Bronx. His eye glows as he begins to describe Elixir sitting at a table inside the Roaring 20's club. Then suddenly Vigil cries out in pain as some unseen force flings him against a wall. Vigil clutches the glowing stone from his eyesocket and it falls to the floor with wisps of smoke and flame sparking from it. Vigil curses and his face is blistered a bit from his seeing stone burning white hot.
Vigil sobs at an unseen assailant, "No! Go away!"

"I Agree with Vendetta, we should know what everyone can do, so we can practice basic strategies and tactics for combat, rescue and escape situations", Solo had to admit to himself there were definitely advantages in working with others.

Vigil crouches down, groping for his dropped seeing stone. Arc recovers it for him. It cools and stops glowing as he places it back into his open eyesocket. His blistered face begins to heal.
Vigil is visibly shaken by what he's seen. "Elixir is talking to a powerful demon that obviously doesn't wish to be scryed upon."
A few moments later Ferine's voice emerges from the team's communicator radios...
"There is something strange going on here, there is a guy here trying to take on the whole place by himself, and there was a very strange man here who gave me a very bad feeling. Not exactly sure if we need you here yet, but be ready. over?"

"We are ready to come and give you support if needed, don't hesitate to call us, over"
Solo looks over to Vigil, and says in a worried voice,"How powerfull do you think this Demon is?"

Vigil begins a highbrow academic response.. "There are many ways to measure and catagorize demonic power, depending on their manifestation abilities and age... there's much debate on which demonological taxonomy system is more accurate. The lack of ectoplasmic residuals from..."
Vigil pauses, and apologizes for his techno-babble. "Blocking my scrying power and physically flinging me against the wall through my own eye just looking at it... we're talking at least a Class Seven manifestation... a major demonic entity. One of high-rank among demons, maybe even a Hell-Lord or one of their lieutenants. Not a Fomorexian. Something more closer to the Earth Dimension's splintered nether-realms. Something from the ghastly satanic Hell-Realms themselves. Truth be told, more powerful than our instruments can quantify. Or at least, powerful enough to fool our instruments into believing it is that powerful. Demons are rarely honest. All of them claim to be THE Devil to people who don't know better..."
Vigil seems really concerned. "Such an entity would not appear to Elixir unless he wanted to use him for something or acquire something from him. A soul, perhaps. The Celestium-lined walls of the Angel Towers can theoretically keep extradimensional entities in or out, but not psionic entities like the Hypnoporter projections and Rin's created form. Such an entity would need to possess a mortal form to enter here. Perhaps this entity is merely curious about what we're doing."
Arc adds, "Celestium is... concrete mixed with holy water and granules of silver. Don't laugh... it works."

Solo had a hard time swalloing this, but after all the crap he saw, he had to accept how real magic and extradimensional lifeforms were, "So, if it is this type of "demon" you speak of, how can I modfy my weapons to hurt him?"
