"Felicia!" Shockwave shouts seeing the car. Killer robots one way, and Felicia in trouble another. These situations suck. Why did it always look more glamorous when the heroes were on the news.
Turning back in the general direction of Old School, Shockwave uses his sonic generators as amplifiers to carry his voice back in his companion's direction. "I found Felicia's car in an alley. Looks like she may be in trouble, so I'm going to check it out. The warehouse likely has AIM killer robots called Dreadnoughts. Heavily armored, and heavily armed. Be careful. I'll join the rest of you as quickly as possible."
With this Shockwave dives towards the vehicle, hoping to find Felicia alright.

Back a half-mile away from Shockwave, Elixir and Spellbound clearly hear Shockwave's voice, as if it were over a loudspeaker: "I found Felicia's car in an alley. Looks like she may be in trouble, so I'm going to check it out. The warehouse likely has AIM killer robots called Dreadnoughts. Heavily armored, and heavily armed. Be careful. I'll join the rest of you as quickly as possible"Flashdance and Oldschool also hear Shockwave's warning, and leap to catch up to Shockwave's location. Windchill flies to Shockwave's location as well. ===== ![](http://i540.photobucket.com/albums/gg340/deadsidekick/spellbound-dcau.jpg) Grabbing Elixir's forearm as they're running, Spellbound says, "Hold on to your lunch, E!" as a dot of white light emerges in front of them and expands as they run through it like a gateway of energy. And suddenly, Elixir finds himself a little dizzy but still running next to Spellbound as they come up on Shockwave, Windchill, Flashdance, and Oldschool standing around a vandalized Metropolitian Museum of Art vehicle with broken windows, slashed tires, and spray-painted with anti-mutant slogans. ===== Shockwave looks over the vehicle, finding only Felicia's sweater and skirt on the seat, next to her purse and cellphone. The cellphone's screen says "9 Missed Calls." ===== Solo heard a loud voice behind him as if it were coming from a megaphone around a quarter-mile north, but couldn't make out what it is saying. He sees three figures drop out of the air as two others run out of a flash of light back there. Ahead, the four Dreadnought robots continue to march forward, just over an eighth of a mile away to the south and closing. The Dreadnought robots continue to take shots at passing cars.

Windchill flies down to Shockwave's location as the others join them.
"Who's Felicia? What's an AIM killer robot?"
Then he sees the vandalism on the vehicle and the clothing left on the seat and a grim look takes over his face.
He tries to make an optimistic point. "Other than the broken windows, there appears to be no sign of struggle. The clothing isn't torn..."
Windchill shuts himself up.

A gunshot-like noise and the sound of screeching tires echoes through the warehouse district from the area near the burning pier a half-mile away as the heroes gathered together around the vandalized Jeep Cherokee. Shockwave's armor reports: [soundsource: AIM Dreadnought spike launcher, range +/- 0.4 miles]===== ![](http://i540.photobucket.com/albums/gg340/deadsidekick/spellbound-dcau.jpg) Spellbound points down the street at four robotic figures walking out of the flames of the pier 10 blocks (22 areas) south. "I think those qualify as killer robots. What's the plan? I can close the distance between us and them the same way I shunted Elixir and myself through timespace to get here so we can arrive on them at the same time, unless the teleporter and flyers want first crack. The way they're shooting at every car that passes... they need to be stopped quickly." ===== Solo watches from 5 blocks away (12 areas) as a Dreadnought robot launches a spike into a passing car and it skids but keeps driving away. ===== ooc: just giving a small bit of time for some teamwork planning here, before the distance is closed into weapons range for the Dreadnoughts to start taking shots at the heroes (they'll reach Solo first, obviously). In the meantime, the Dreadnoughts taking shots at passing vehicles might actually hurt an innocent... tick tock

Solo tries to throw a smoke grenade at the robots to confuse them.

ooc: Hold on that action. Solo is 12 areas away (a little over a quarter-mile away) from the Dreadnoughts.
Solo's max throwing range is 2 areas.
He can start running towards them (at 3 areas per round) as they advance towards him (at 3 areas per round) and be in range to throw grenades in 2 rounds (and be in range of some of their weapons as well)
I'll call for initiatives when someone is close enough to attack.

"Looking for Felicia will have to wait. We need to close the distance as quickly as possible. These things are dangerous."
"These things are designed by Advanced Idea Mechanics, scientific arm of HYDRA, a worldwide terrorist organization. These things are made of titanium, making them virtually indestructible. They are loaded with weapons including spikes, flamethrowers, and gas weapons. They aren't easy to push around. I haven't actually fought an operational one, so this will be interesting to see what can take them down... at least I hope that we can take them down." This isn't going to be good.

Windchill is a bit disturbed by the anti-mutant slogans spray-painted on the Met Museum vehicle. "THIN THE HERD. What the hell is that supposed to mean?"
After Shockwave describes the capabilities of the robots, Windchill says "Made of strong metals, armed with spikes, fire, and gases. Can they fly? And more importantly," he says with a devilish grin as he points towards the waterfront, "can they swim?"

![](http://i540.photobucket.com/albums/gg340/deadsidekick/spellbound-dcau.jpg) Spellbound says "If they can swim, they probably can't handle water in their circuitry. How much do they weight? Either of you two think you can carry one in flight? Maybe Flashdance can teleport into the water with one while the flyers and muscleheads get them out to sea a bit. We'll have to crack 'em open somehow. Last resort maybe trap them in ice out there until we figure out what to do with them. What sort of power source do they run on? Magnetic induction or electrochemical rechargeable batteries? Elixir can control chemical reactions, right? Maybe run 'em down like a cell phone that needs recharging. And if they have flamethrowers, they gotta flamethrower fuel inside of them, which can't be good rendered inert or ignited inside of them somehow. Who can be a heavy hitter? I know Oldschool and Flashdance are strong, I saw 'em fight. Maybe they can bash them to pieces. Windchill, have you ever weakened metal with intense cold? Elixir, we got plenty of fire there on the pier. Nitric acid will corrode titanium rapidly under intense heat... shoot, that does you no good in titanium form if you gotta get close to them and in the fire. Shockwave seems to know the most about these robots. We need a leader here."

"Uh, I've never done anything like this before, but this is what I'm thinking right now..."
"We need to split them up and take them a few at a time."
"Windchill, I know first hand that you can make extreme cold that can weaken metal. Let's cool it down there to make their armor more brittle."
"Flashdance and Spellbound, between the two of you can you gateway / teleport them real high up, high enough it will take a minute for them to get down? Get the two escorts so we can deal with the other two."
"That leaves me, Oldschool, and Shockwave. Oldschool is tough enough to take some hits, and I'll titanium up and try to do the same. We all three need to hit one in the chest and crack it open, then we can do all kinds of things to the insides, like dunking it in the river. Once we've got one cracked, we can do the same and crack the other."
"Thoughts anyone?"
Elixir holds his breath and hopes that his armored form is up to the challenge, Shockwave sure didn't paint a pretty picture of these things!

"We'll find her, Shockwave," Mike said as he patted the armored hero on the shoulder. "No more innocents... even if I have to keep those titanium trousered femmebots busy, by myself, while you do so."
Oldschool tried to recall what he could of the Dreadnaughts. He was sure he heard something about them when he was in Research and Development.
"I could kick in a fire hydrant and Windchill could freeze the water. I'm pretty sure they couldn't compensate quick enough to stay upright if they tried to keep walking on a layer of ice. Woah!"
Oldschool cringed as the Dreadnaughts came close to destroying a car that seemed barely able to limp away, though it was doing it's best to limp away fast as the driver tried to stomp the pedal through the floor.
"Make a decision guys. You guys are alot more versatile than I am, I'll just bring the heat and try to keep it up until you guys have a chance to finish them."

Windchill says to Elixir, "That's an awfully huge fire down there on the pier. Hope anyone still alive down there dove in the water to get away. Nonetheless, I may be able to cool one down individually with enough concentration, whech means I'll be on the ground and undefended. It's a shame I'm probably the only one that can handle solid oxygen snowballs. If we could be certain the pier is free of innocents and get those robots back in the fire, I could probably feed in enough frozen oxygen to blow them and the pier sky high or create blast furnace level flames and melt the suckers. Again, that's a time consumption problem, both getting them in the fire and holding them there long enough to burn them out. As far as freezing them, the slip and fall path might work. If someone will guard me I'll try to frost one up brittle enough to smash."

![](http://i540.photobucket.com/albums/gg340/deadsidekick/spellbound-dcau.jpg) Spellbound says, "I'm going to be fairly unprotected and defenseless as well once we close the distance with the robots. I might not be able to gateway any of them effectively while dodging whatever they throw at me. I have to get really close to them shunt them through timespace them up or any direction. And," she adds with a sour note, "I may need to cue up healing spells for the injured quickly. It takes a bit of time for me to tailor magical energy to different specific effects. I can get us all there simultaneously, but I'm also going to need a bit of cover while I weave up healing energy to have on standby. And those crates, We probably want to know what's in them. Maybe taking away their cargo will confuse their programming. How smart are they?"

"The models I've dealt with in the past had no systems to enable flight or water propulsion. They may be able to walk along the bottom if their armor hasn't been breached however. Still, throwing one or two of them in the drink would at least get them out of the fight for a short while."
"They are pretty heavy. I wouldn't count on me being able to lift one let alone flying with one. However, I believe Flashdance said he could teleport someone or something without teleporting with it. Sending one out into the bay sounds like a great opening tactic to put the numbers in our favor a bit more. A second one right behind that would be even better. I'm not sure what your range is," Shockwave says indicating Flashdance. "Tryining to get the fuel to explode in one sounds like a great idea. Fuel lines should run through the upper limbs, with tanks under their arms. Not sure how well cold will work. The titanium held up pretty good against cold in experiments, and they even carry their own cold weapon with a mouth mounted freon gas projector."
"As far as leading...I'm more of an analyst than a field operations commander. Although I've pulled these things apart a few times, typically, they've already been taken down. Speaking of which, if we can take down one of things mostly intact, I'd like to get a good look at it to maybe see who's behind it. There are several variations of these things with their own signatures... with that in mind, Flashdance, if you can put one in the bay, get one of the ones firing. Uh...witch... if you can do the same with the other one firing, that would be great. Elixer...was that it? You try to get one with cargo to explode. Oldschool, cover the witch girl so that she doesn't get shot at by that thing. Ice guy, try to ice up the other one with cargo to see if we can stop it from going whereever it's headed while we find a way to disable it in as few pieces as we can. I'll uh...help whereever this doesn't look like it's going to plan."

Solo tries to sneak up close enough to the robots, so he can shoot them with his sniper rifle. He those that trying to hide, and looking for any arriving capes or cops.
